With the genre title “War Metal” thrown around so loosely it’s rare to hear quality bands such as this with genuinely warlike anthems in honor of warrior ancestors and traditions. GYIBAAW does this while basing it around the Tsimshian people and ancient warfare.

GYIBAAW's 2009 debut album is an essential for any fan of Black/Death/War Metal, vicious, experimental and genuine. GYIBAAW blend the raw, unrelenting attack that Canada is renowned for with their own refined take and instrumental proficiency as well as use of native instruments creating a definitive style of their own which makes them unique without pretention.

Если вкратце - War Black\Death с вкраплениями национальных индейских инструментов. Участники группы принадлежат к народу Tsimshian и привносят в музыку свой народный колорит. Большая часть лирики на их же языке, сами они называют свой стиль "Tsimshian/Gitksan War Metal", воспевая воинские традиции и славу своих предков. Материал очень интересен.

не совсем понял музыку

Hark! No announcement this year is more dear to us than to formally announce the reformation of the mythical and honourable Gyibaaw.
Prince George's favourite sons have returned!

In a six year period from 2006-2012, Gyibaaw conquored territory all across Canada, from west to east, and even down to South American lands where they spread their ancestral war hymns.

Having accomplished what they set out to do, the band put their weapons down, and moved on to other projects, but now the drums pound again, and the warriors prepare.
