"Shogun were formed in 1985 by vocalist Alan Marsh (Tokyo Blade) and guitarist Danny Gwilym (Chinatown).
Alan had been working on putting a band together, but things didn't really gel until he and Danny met. A sense of direction was formed and work commenced on material which at that time was like a cross between "Tokyo Blade" and "Chinatown" (for obvious reasons)."
