Additional notes
One of the first doom metal bands, influenced by Black Sabbath.

Saint Vitus were formed in 1979 under the name Tyrant with Scott Reagers (vocals), Dave Chandler (guitar), Mark Adams (bass), and Armando Costa (drums), but changed their name to Saint Vitus a year later. In the mid-1980s, while The Obsessed were on hiatus, Scott "Wino" Weinrich would join the band up to their 1989 album "V". They released two more albums without him before splitting up in 1996.

The band briefly reunited for a few shows in 2003. When Debris Inc. and The Hidden Hand were both put on ice for good, Saint Vitus decided to stay reunited full time. According to Wino, there will be a new album, but the band needs to find a new record label first.

не сейнт витус не блек сабат не играли дума
они играли хард рок который можно назвать прото-думом
но убрать приставку прото тут нельзя будет тоже самое что убрать приставку пост- в пост метал и пост рок или пост панк
и да дум это МЕТАЛ эти группы имеют слишком много блюз рока и хард рока чтобы быть думом ...
ну да влияние на дум у них определенное было
потому и прото-дум их иногда зовут
кстати скажите черному шабату что они дум и они будут сильно удивлены ...
как жанр дум МЕТАЛ зародился с группой Кендлмасс

Да,Блеки будут удивлены этому понятию,ведь Гизер и Тонни преподносят себя как первая хеви метал группа. И название жанра появилось благодаря ним.
В случае с Saint Vitus ....
