320 Stream/Web-rip by Plotno8 ...does nobody notice that these sound less than CD-rip?

The spectrum analyzer is showing real 320 CBR of these streaming albums (which actually stream at 320 CBR if you have a premium account);
though the sound / audio quality of these releases is noticeable inferior to CD-rip!

Just compare those releases with releases which are CD-rip + covers

I hope this Plotno8-guy stops ripping these albums at 320 CBR from Spotify & Deezer

Эта ихняя музыка мне всегда другие пару-тройку известных групп напоминало, но все равно весьма достойная работа.

Вокал мне не понравился, по музыке ничего особенного.

Не особо понимал раньше, за что так превозносят Underworld, ну а этот альбом, судя по превью, уже давно неактуален. Вокалист слабоват, мелодии я нормальной не услышал.

Не буду устраивать одной из самых любимых групп потрекового разбора. Скажу в целом. Начну со странного откровения: будь это не "сказочники", альбом, всего скорее, после первого прослушивания был бы забыт. Но за былые заслуги я начал гонять материал по кругу. И вот оно - после многочисленных ротаций - в какой-то момент, когда музыка просто играла фоном, я наконец-то поймал себя на мысли, что это он - тот самый, прежний и настоящий The Storyteller!

Местами звучание стало действительно несколько жёстче, как и обещала группа, но самое главное, что никуда не делась прежняя мелодика. Учитывая временной промежуток между релизами и перемены в составе коллектива, материал получился всё-таки иным, именно поэтому потребовалось несколько подходов к снаряду, чтобы уловить и оценить все нюансы.

Композиции тщательно проработаны и выверены до мелочей, что опять-таки не особо удивительно из-за взятого группой тайм-аута, во время коготорого, разумеется, никто из музыкантов сложа руки не сидел. В итоге мы получили абсолютно монолитный, но при этом крайне разнообразный материал, не имеющий недостатков и перепадов, обращающих на себя внимание. Короче, чем громче это слушаешь, тем лучше тебе будет. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

Вокал Эл-джи Пирссона, конечно, подсел, но звучит по-прежнему мощно, самобытно и интересно. Многим такие голос и манера исполнения кажутся странными и даже непонятными или вовсе отталкивающими, но именно в них заключается одна из главных изюминок коллектива. В своё время, ещё в начале пути именно по этой причине товарищи намучились с поисками лейбла, потому что всех устраивала инструментальная часть, к которой даже на самых ранних демках не может быть никаких претензий, а вот от микрофонной стойки исполнителя отогнать хотели все и каждый, однако, к счастью, этого не произошло.

Короче, для меня этот альбом ещё задолго до выхода стал релизом года, но тут я максимально предвзят и даже близко не объективен. Впрочем, хочу заметить, что это в любом случае предельно качественный и интересный шведский хэви/павер, который заслуживает внимания все ценителей стиля.

yea the plotn08 group is becoming really annoying. they tag their releases as "all exclusive"... what a joke site. all they do is record spotify premium streams via sound card. as DDT noted, their releases look like real 320 but they're not. in fact they sound more like a webrip than a CD rip. the problem is, the average user doesn't know anything about quality, and the technical aspect of bitrates, encodings and the likes. all they see is 320 and they believe it's the real deal. the first rip appearing on the internet is usually the one kept. only very few people care to download the same album twice (or even more often in order to improve quality). that's why it's important to properly tag music uploads. and this goes out to GetMetal too. I just recently managed to shed light on their tagging mystery. 320 on GM means iTunes matched or iTunes purchased files transcoded to 320kbps mp3, while true CD rips are labeled as such. good job you cheap ass cheaters. but some sites just don't have the balls to inform their users that upload X or Y is only a web recording, source rip or webrip. like, "look we are the best. we have the new Metallica 2 months before the initial release date and in 320. we don't care if it's only a transcoded webrip. it's 320 so fuck it, we can put 320 and fool people. noone in the god damn universe needs an album 2 months before it hits stores but hey, we love to ruin the music scene" and I could go on and on.

what I'm trying to say is, stop ripping everything for the sole purpose of releasing. you want hits, clicks, page impressions and downloads for your site? then provide quality uploads! if you don't have the money to buy the music you like, no matter if it's physical or digital, then you cannot have it. simple as that. what happened to the good old days when VBR scene releases were the ne plus ultra. I hate to spend most of my time downloading from crappy hosts (lol @ 50kb/s from uploaded, rapidgator, cloudzer for an album of 100MB and more), then perform spectral analysis to find out it's just another webrip. I wouldn't went through all this if it was labeled as webrip in the first place. and most importantly, stop converting everything to 320kbps mp3. 320 isn't as superior as you sites make want people to believe it is. instead provide the original bitrate/file format. when your source is iTunes m4a then friggin upload those. I can teach a monkey to transcode m4a to mp3. you don't have to do it for me.

Totally agree. People with cheap piece of plastic speakers for 10$ or earpiece wont notice quality. For me the standard is VBR 0 and scene releases ony with true VBR. It's hellfucking annoying to download stuff twice then real scene release appears. I care about quality.I know about spectrograms and I worked with audio programs a lot.
99% of necroscum's releases are iTunes TRANSCODES. For preview it's OK and he's doing great job. BUT PLEASE TAG CORRECTLY - 320 TRANSCODE Sometimes he uploads re-tagged scene releases and removes real nfo file. Shame.

I agree. GetMetal and Plotn08 sites are just lame. Nobody wants to wait 45 minutes for 110 MB album and find out it's just a webrip. Even if I see one of these blasphemous sites with the WEBRIP (320 kbps, fake shit) on their site first, I always wait for another site to post it, I won't help promote sites who try to fool people into believing they have the real deal. And guess what, now people are ripping a lot in 192...Still a webrip, and still shitty quality. Why cant they just rip it 128 always and then wait for a SCENE VBR V0, or a 320 kbps CD Rip plus scans and covers. I was actually banned from GetMetal about 5 months ago because I called the moron Admin out on his fake Wintersun Time 1 192 webrip bullshit. People like Thriller45, Soldout, Admin of GetMetal, Plotn08, all these idiots should just quit and never post or show their faces on the web again. Necroscum just copies all the other sites files onto Metalarea simply cuz he has a fast connection to leech them and upload the albums here. He rarely rips his own music, but when he does, I normally see 128 kbps, so good on him, but all the other people need to fuck off!

Indeed, people transcode 128kbps music files to 192kbps all the time just to make actual forum posts on here, so that the post doesn't go to low bitrate forum, that sucks. They waste their time and waste of space for us aswell. I pretty much prefer scene releases aswell. Stop fooling people with transcodes, like most of the sites do (getmetal, mediaboom, bunalti...), also sucks to download at such a slow speed on those sites. I just check them to see if stuff leaked anyways.
