As the guitarist/vocalist/producer and chief writer, arranger and lyricist of Anacrusis from 1986-1993, KENN NARDI’s vision was a lofty one. He wanted to marry elements of classic metal, doom, speed/thrash, and early power metal together to create a unique brand of songwriting. Anacrusis delivered their material via brave and and forward-thinking arrangements while always maintaining a strong sense of melody throughout.
Dancing With The Past is comprised of music written as far back as 1994, shortly after the Anacrusis split-up, and post-Cruel April. The collection also features material borne from collaborations with his former Anacrusis band mates during their 2009-2012 reunion run along with a re-recorded Cruel April song in addition to the more recent compositions.

With styles ranging from classic metal, thrash/speed metal, orchestral metal, progressive metal, moody acoustic, goth, alternative, and new wave, Dancing With The Past in truly unlike any heavy metal album before it. Clocking in at over 2 1/2 hours, the double-disc set is sure to offer something for both fans of Anacrusis and of heavy music in general. Over two decades in the making, Dancing With The Past bears the fruit of everything musical that KENN NARDI has done up until now.

Сильно трешевые альбомы Маниллы:

1987 - Mystification
1989 - Out Of The Abyss
1990 - The Courts Of Chaos

Но чистый треш там не жди, настоен он на хэви/спиде всё-таки. Да и вызывает сомнения тезис о влиянии трешевых альбомов Маниллы на Анакрусис или этот альбом Нарди, если честно....

Не вовремя для меня всплыл этот альбом, переслушать еще раз захотелось (IMG:style_emoticons/default/20.gif) Все 2,5 часа. А тут голосовальные старые альбомы и новые альбомы старых групп ждут.. Не говорю уже о новинках вообще))

Убиваю вечер переслушиванием. Должен признать, что по старой памяти серьёзно недооценивал стерильность этих водяных масс, да и плоский звук никак не способствует положительным впечатлениям. Не откажусь от своих слов — удачные моменты тут действительно есть, и не так чтоб мало (те же Armies of One, The Telling Skies, Ordinary, Creve Coeur (A Place Called ''Broken Heart'')), но на подобный хронометраж... это очень маленький архипелаг в очень большом море.

Нужно, наверное, очень сильно любить Анакрузис, а меня, что называется, б-г миловал.

Так получилось, что этот материал послушал только сейчас, в конце 2019. Что сказать? Это золотой фонд метала. Вроде и долго чересчур, вроде иногда и устаешь, а тут необыкновенная песня, и так через весь альбом, вокал тоже зашел. Не являясь рьяным поклонником направления остался под сильнейшим впечатлением, тяну лося и перемещаю свою папку Forever.
