Спорить и доказывать не буду и не собираюсь - у каждого свое видение и представление. Скажу лишь, что как по мне в Death or Glory вторая половина опуса будет посильнее и похитовее нежели первая, Blazon Stone - на 2 месте по "любимости", но концовка смазана... а Under Jolly Roger на удивление просто не люблю!
Еще очень чествую The Rivalry - но половина альбома гуд, а остальная слабенькая будет, но там есть Ballad of William Kidd , которую считаю визитной карточкой и одной из лучших вещей у Рольфа!

Возможно, лучший и, наряду со следующим, самый тяжёлый альбом в дискографии. Немалая доля в заслугах "тяжести", впрочем, принадлежит шикарному звуку, железному, лязгающему, этакому хэви-аналогу Тестамента, если угодно.

Интро, конечно, как и всегда у группы, когда они пытаются во что-то, кроме музыки, слушается как радиопостановка "Чиполлино", но именно по музыке претензий к ней нет и быть не может. Титулка разрывная и чуть ли не плясовая, умеет (умел?) Каспарек такие вещи писать. Дальше идут две стандартнейшие для РВ композиции, которые не то чтобы тянут альбом на дно, но явно выглядят послабее остальных, хотя на более поздних альбомах быть им, несомненно, в числе лучших. The Privateer сурова, и, помимо прочего, внушает уже чумовым барабанным интро, а Fight the Fire of Hate — суть солиднейший плацдарм для трёх последующих убойных вещей, лучшего места альбома. Призрак Чёрного холма, Freewind Rider и Пыль и утюг — какие они разные, и как они драйвовы каждая по-своему! Стремительная, простая, как удар абордажной саблей Phantom..., залихватская и даже в чём-то рок-н-ролльная Rider и нагнетающая, разворачивающаяся огненным адом, пушечной канонадой и свистящими ядрами Powder & Iron — всё, что вы хотели знать о Running Wild. Отнюдь не мирная Dragonmen после подобной экзальтации — просто возможность перевести дух переж монументальным эпиком, самым громоздким и мрачным у группы, как мне представляется. Хотя там опять радиопостановка (см. первый трек).

Убойный альбом.

В целом старомудрый тут верно сказал. Материал очень приличного качества, со всеми необходимыми раннингуайлдовскими атрибутами: мелодии, скорости, особое звучание, явно отличимый вокал и ошарашивающие гитарные соло. Прям как в палате мер и весов, там и мера такая есть - один R.W. Тут как раз и имеем полную единицу, а не какие-то там ноль семь или ноль восемь. Надо добавить ещё, что начиная с the Phantom... и по Dragonmen включительно - самый жир. Genesis немного прибыт базаром в начале композиции.
