Дебютник 85 явно интереснее сабжа. Звук на "Beyond The Gates" оставляет желать лучшего, а стилистика всё же ближе к thrash, чем к death. Тем не менее это твердые 8/10. Кстати, чем-то напоминает мне ранний Антракс..

Неплохо бы дискографию Possessed оформить...

КРАЙНЕ неубедительное мнение. Обосновать сумеешь? Лично мне этот релиз видится на уровне дебюта. Да, стало меньше дэта, произошел заметный крен в сторону трэша, но какого, черт побери! Такого же дикого и дьявольского, непристойного и сырого, ядовитого и богохульного.

Не, ну сырость и дикость конечно никуда не ушла, а вот импульсивность упомянутая (мной) к предшественнику, куда-то потерялась - риффовые конструкции песен однотипны до невозможности: прямо с начала "Херетика" создается впечатление, гаркнули "А-а-а-а-р-р-р-р!" и понеслась - один монотонный рифф на три минуты! И так почти в каждой теме, из-за чего альбом напоминает своего ровесника у Voivod - такой же серый и напрочь лишенный авторской идеи - этакий чёс ради чёса.

В свое время (1988-1989) прослушал (и переписал себе) оба альбома, и в результате сабж всё-таки был стерт осенью 1991 (когда я просто "заболел" дэтом), а вот дебютник прожил на кассете намного дольше...
