Long Live Rock 'n' Roll is the third studio album released by Rainbow, released in 1978.

Although Bob Daisley & David Stone are listed on the album credits for their contributions they joined the band part way through the recording sessions and only appear on a couple of tracks. (Stone part wrote "Gates of Babylon" but was never credited). Blackmore played most of the bass parts himself for the album.

К третьему диску опять случились так называемые перемены состава,а именно:
внесто Jimmy Bain(басс) пришел Bob Daisley(как оказалось только на один альбом),тот самый,что позднее играл у Оззи (1979-1981,1983-1991),до Райнбоу чуточку в самих Саббатах(October-November 1986),в 88 году на известном диске Мальмстина /Одиссей/,гостем у Испанского мультиинструменталиста Jorge Salan,на альбоме 98 года группы Stream (USA) - Nothing is Sacred делил бас наряду с Chuck Wright,а также в Gary Moore, Uriah Heep.сейчас он числится в группе Planet Alliance(павер метал),записавшей в 2005 дебютник.

2)вместо Tony Carey(Keyboards) пришел David Stone(впоследстввии его пригласят быть гостем на клавишах харdовая группа Le Mans).

/Bob Daisley and David Stone joined Rainbow during recording. Most of the bass
lines on the album are actually played by Ritchie Blackmore.

Track 5 & 8 by Blackmore, Dio, Powell the rest by Blackmore & Dio./метал-архивы гласят.

@В 1978 г. RAINBOW записали свой последний альбом с Дио. После американского турне, в ноябре 1978 г., Блэкмор уволил всех участников группы, за исключением Пауэлла. Конфликт был вызван тем, что Блэкмор решил освоить рынок США и настаивал на изменении стилистики группы. По идее, теперь RAINBOW должны были играть музыку более легкую и коммерческую. @therainbow

Шикарнейший релиз, конечно. Хит на хите, мощно, проникновенно, пронзительно, драйвово. Слушается свежо спустя 42 года - вот она, вечная музыка.

Но и логичное завершение первого этапа. Желание Дио продолжать играть то же, что и раньше, конечно, уважаемо, но Блэкмор поступил как хотелось ему - и не прогадал. Дальнейшее творчество не менее интересно и круто. Более попсово? Ну так при качественной реализации это всегда хорошо)
