Originally, the band was mentioned as sharing unspecified members with Amorphis, Before the Dawn, Moonsorrow, Moonspell, Sinamore and Sotajumala. The first album, "Darkness Walks Beside Me", due to be released on April 1st 2009, will instead feature guest appearances by Tomi Koivusaari (Amorphis), Ville Sorvali (Moonsorrow), Mynni Luukkainen (Sotajumala) and Mikko Heikkilä (Sinamore), and will essentially be a solo album by Saukkonen.

Этот альбом можно охарактеризовать как "резкие, пронзительные гитары Deadlight" + "мощь саунда Soundscape Of Silence". Чувствуется, кто автор музыки, разумеется, много узнаваемых элементов присутствует, но нет главного козыря последнего альбома Before The Dawn - насыщенности звука. Гитары звучат как-то более грязно и визгливо, не хватает именно монолитного звучания, которое так ярко проявлялось в вещах типа Dying Sun или Monsters. Кроме того, здесь очень редко гитары выводят что-то такое весьма мелодичное, а больше используются для создания тяжести - в этом тоже отличие от главного проекта Туомаса.

Если говорить о настроениях, то здесь материал больше пропитан мрачностью и меланхолией, чем романтичными нотками. Да и по исполнению музыка больше среднетемповая, нединамичная, тягучая, что только подчеркивается злым как никогда гроулом Туомаса и время от времени вступающими акустическими пассажами и клавишными. Всё опять же узнаваемо, но звучит существенно отлично от Before The Dawn. Наверное, здесь действительно больше от Dawn Of Solace, прав Василий.

Творчество Туомаса вообще мною уже не воспринимается без Ларса Эйкинда - хотя не факт, что его уникальный чистый вокал пришелся бы здесь кстати. Возможно, те надрывные партии, которые можно наблюдать, в самом деле больше подходят этой музыке. Но лично мне Ларса не хватает.

Не могу сказать, что мне очень понравилось - просто дело в том, что не совсем мой стиль, пусть проект ведет и довольно симпатичный мне композитор. Не знаю, как определить стиль этого альбома, но вообще хотелось бы, чтобы было больше песен типа двух последних, где как раз и акустика в силе, и лид гитара предстает во всей красе, чем тех, которые в середине альбома - тогда и атмосферности было бы побольше, и мелодии были бы более ярко выраженны, и музыка воспринималась бы четче.

А, ну и вопль "Soundscape of Silence" в A Song For This Winter позабавил, да.

Неплохо, но ждал немного другого, когда увидел Death/Doom. Здесь скорее Melodic Death Metal/Doom Metal.
Похоже на Before The Dawn, но здесь поинтереснее, чем последние их альбомы, имхо.

Мне тоже не понравилось. Утомляюще и поверхностно, вот. С BtD ничего общего, да и дума тут... Хотя это даже хорошо. Но на плюс не катит, так что тройка по пятибалльной, не более. Слушать еще раз не тянет абсолютно.
