Extended info
TEOTWAWKI introduces a more variating and rawer musical style, compared to it's predecessor 'Inherit The Eden', as well as a new guitarist Jussi Hдmдlдinen. On TEOTWAWKI, old english death doom influences and acoustic parts are accompanied by post-metallic harshness, post-rockish fragility and hardcore style vocal parts. The overall sound is less keyboard orientated and unpolished. TEOTWAWKI was mixed and mastered at Toontekning Recording in Sweden by Magnus Lindberg.

Seems to be true.


Inherit the Eden was really great. While Teotwawki was playing I couldn't even believe that it is Hanging Garden.

Какое-то двоякое впечатление оставляет альбом. Музыка вроде бы нравится, даже очень. Но вот вокал... слишком он однообразный какой-то (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile2.gif)

М-да. Самый неожиданный релиз, если честно. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif)
Дебютник финов явно навевал мысли о продолжении дела Swallow The Sun - melodic doom/death с очень меланхоличным тягучим звучанием, с красивым звуком, сочным вокалом и явно с огромным потенциалом на продолжение развития финского "околофюнерального" меланхолик дум-дэта. Но кто думал, что на втором релизе парни настолько изменят свои мнения и пойдут другой дорогой... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

...И кстати очень необычной дорогой. Нас ожидает почти часовое путешествие в реально присладжеванный мелодик дум-дэт с многочисленными пост-метальными элементами. Первое, что сразу же охрeнеть-как-удивляет - это вокал. Теперь это практически типичный сладжёвых харш с периодическими редкими вставками приглушенного скрим-гроула, ну и, конечно же, чистый фоновый вокал. Второе - это, несомненно, музыка... Несколько хаотичные тяжёлые пост-сладж-метальные риффаки пересекаются с мелодичными около-дум-дэтовыми, что в общем-то ещё может напомнить старый материал. Третье - это, конечно же, красивейшие акустические гитары, которые ну не могут не понравяться любителям как пост-металла, так и попросту хорошей музыки. Четвёртое - это, не поверите, наличие достачтоно быстрых чуть ли не мелодик дэтовых элементов (Hands That Decay). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif) Всё это удивляет, обескураживает и... не даёт выключить музыку парней из Hanging Garden. Я совершенно не могу сказать, что после первого прослушивания был в восторге, однако музыканты смогли меня не только удержать у колонок, но и поставить их треки ещё и ещё. Я вот теперь даже и не знаю... Мне несомненно очень по душе предыдущий опус музыкантов, но, чёрт-побери, и эта, совершенно новая глава мне тоже по нраву.

Первый альбом мне тоже очень понравился. Это тоже клаасно же. и вокал хорошенький ваще-то, мне нра вощем.

Хотя ещё можно (в меньшей степени, ибо кора в сабже нет окромя вокала) вспомнить про Iron Thrones - Visions Of Light (2008) или Memories Of A Dead Man - Beyond The Legend (2009).

Но это - безынтересное копание (тем более, что тут ещё и со стилистической принадлежностью можно играть), посему останавливаюсь на том, что альбом хорош и вообще такой же как болотные лечебные травы и ягодки. А какой "такой" - это уж сами выберете. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crazy.gif)

Первый альбом команды считаю шедевром. Кто-то говорит о его вторичности, но лично мне по фиг вторичность, главное - звучит классно и цепляет. Почитав отзывы о новом альбоме (изменили стиль, пост-металл и всё такое) боялся качать. Думал, будет разочарование и мысль "ну, вот ещё одна группа одного альбома". Скачав, понял, что ошибся. Да, музыка отличается, вокал изменился, но в целом всё очень даже приятно. Хороший драйв, интересные темы, качественная музыка. На мой взгляд, в стиле преобладает мелодик дум-дэт, а пост-металл... ну, я конечно, не критик, но здесь его не много.
Слушайте, качественная работа.
