Можно, конечно, и так сказать. Собственно, в отсутствии экстарординарности и заключается традиционная популярность power metal.
Есть лишь одно "но": по сравнению со многими другими группами, играющими подобного рода музыку здесь есть множество скоростных и мелодичных (и при этом - отличных) песен с прекрасными инструментальными соло: We Don't Need A Hero, Down To The Devil, Under The Moon, Lavatory Love Machine, Navigator продолжать можно и дальше. Есть и традиционная для стиля баллада (и даже с оркестровкой) The Spirit Will Remain. Ну и в качестве главного блюда - The Piper Neverмчужин Dies, продолжительная эпическая вещь, со сменой настроений, ритма, еще одна из жемчужин, созданных на стыке power metal и progressive.
Побольше бы таких альбомов!

Зря я судил по обложке, думая что Тоби подкинет какой нить сладенький метальчик. Здесь всё отличается от Мэндрейка, но сделано не менее качественно и круто. Звучит современно, но при этом не вылизанно, не модно и не излишне помпезно. Явно заметен крен в сторону DIO в плане вокала, особенно это заметно в трэке под номером 2 — мощнейшем эпике. King Of Fools, наоборот же, вполне по хорошему современен. Да и вообще, стоит сказать, что на альбоме нет ни одной слабой или проходной песни — все как на подбор!
