Отличный драйвовый австралийский техно-дэт с элементами брутала, особенно по части вокала. Голос у вокалиста вообще космический, что-то среднее между рокотом и рыком. Обалденно. Есть один минус - песни не запоминаются, но послевкусие остается надолго! Хочется слушать еще и еще. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/roll.gif)

Команда, заставившая европейских любителей технодета немного погоревать на тему того, что Австралия находится так далеко. Есть несколько пунктов, указывающих на исключительную крутизну Psycroptic. Первое — гитара. Гитарист Joe Haley нарезает риффы в одни щи, что, надо думать, заметно упрощает его работу во время лайв перфомансов. И такой подход актуален, учитывая техническую планку коллектива. Гитарные партии предельно читаемы, но главное — это их атомно-точное нотно-ритмическое единство с бас-бочкой. Второе — это вокал. Редко когда в данном жанре вокал может похвастать такой вариативностью и изобретательностью, и в то же время исключительной влитостью в общее композиционное единство. Гитары, барабаны и вокал (прежде всего именно вокал, даже не бас) представляют собой некую целостную структуру, звучащую предельно математически точно. Стоит снизить градус концентрированности момента и смысл данной музыки растворится в небытие.
Больше всего понравились композиции 'The Colour of Sleep', The Valley of Winds Breath and Dragons Fire', 'Lacertine Forest' и концовка 'The Scepter of Jaan-Gilon'.

Инструментальная часть альбома оуительна, ювелирна и просто тащит. А вот вокалист, как мне кажется, перестарался, хотя диапазоны внушительные, но полет фантазии уводит войс-линию в какие-то откровенные кривлянья, поднапрягает. Могу предположить, что в вокалисте живет несколько личностей и все они на этой записи рвутся на волю.
