Talk about a late contender for some of the best BM released this year, in my opinion. I'm a sucker for precisely this type of BM.

DEFINITELY ordering the CD.

I actually bought the digital version of this before finding it here.

Love their mix of Sacramentum, Dissection, Vinterland, The Moaning and Gates of Ishtar .
Basically if you love the music that a label like No Fashion Records put out in the 90's, this band is for you. Definitely waiting for this to be released on CD.

I actually was in the mood the other day for some "radio friendly" metal while driving and downloaded their debut album, and the ride was pretty enjoyable. Curious what this one will sound like. At least they got rid of that awful cover artist who did their last album.

I check my list of "Swedish melodic black/death metal" bands regularly...and was desperately waiting for a new album with their new live drummer. But they never mentioned a new album was in the making, so this is a hell of a surprise. I liked their older stuff but the drum sound was just terrible, it really detracted from the otherwise great music.
Let's see what this one sounds like....My expectations are pretty high, so let's hope they'll be fulfilled.

The drums again sound too artificial, very little variation during the beats...there could have been much much more fills.
I kind of have this feeling that the band uses a drum machine on purpose on their recordings. No, not because their drummer isn't fast enough, or isn't tight enough ( I'm pretty sure their drummer can pull off the lines with ease). But because it is cheaper, when it comes to recording the album. One of the hardest and longest processes is recording the drums therefore making it an expensive process.
The drums, at least, sound better this time around...quite a bit better actually than on their previous album, because the snare drum sounds way better now.
The rest of the album sounds pretty fine. (I'm listening as I'm writing this). But me being a musician myself, doesn't let go of the feeling that this album was recorded at home and mixed mastered at a studio, or maybe it was all recorded at home. I'm saying goes that because the guitars sound very linear, and have no dynamics to the sound.
The vocals are really well performed. They're very vicious! They are very death metallish (with out any really high screams), and in combination with the guitars remind me quite a bit of Aeternus. Overall the album is a pretty nice step upwards. If they fix the above mentioned drum problem, this album would have been simply awesome. Well, maybe the next album will be better.

The New songs on the live album/DVD are really awesome. The Days Before the Fall is.a.perfect mixture of old and New Empyrium. Once it started I immediately thought they would continue where they left on Weiland, and I wasn't let down, but then all of a sudden the riff changes and the guitars go to distortion and the keyboards jump to the foreground. And I thought that it really sounded like A Wintersunset. I hope their new album (if they will release any) is in that style.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who is waiting for this album

I'm looking for this album. It was supposed to be released last week according to the bands' website and their record label. There are reviews on quite a few websites and I found 2 tracks (The Wounded and the Dying - Your Heaven, My Underworld) which the band released as teasers on Soundcloud (I think), but the album is absolutely NOWHERE to be found.
