Funeratus was formed in 1993 by André, Fernando and his brother Flávio with the purpose to make extreme and original Metal. This formation was unchanged until 1995, when Flávio was replaced by Rodrigo. With this formation the band recorded, in 1996 the first demo tape called "The Baptism". This demo tape was distributed throughout Brazil and also in Europe, resulting good comments and reviews to the band. In 1999 they recorded "Upcoming Apparition", a split/CD released by the extinct label Millenium Records, the split had four songs besides an intro. In the same year, before the release of "Upcoming Apparition", Rodrigo left the band because of personal reasons.
In 2001, after two long years without a drummer, the band released its debut CD called "Storm of Vengeance", by Mutilation Records. The drum recordings on this album were made by two invited drummers, Bruno and Ronaldo, from other Brazilian bands. In November, 2001 Funeratus started its first Tour on Brazil, counting then with the new drummer Gustavo Reis. With that stable formation the band kept on the road divulgating "Storm of Vengeance" during all the year of 2002, playing in many states and capitals in Brazil. In the end of the Tour, the band released in VHS format "Storm of Vengeance Tour", a video with images of some concerts, and a little interview with the band.
In November and December of 2003 Funeratus recorded the new album "Echoes in Eternity", that was released in April/2004 again by Mutilation Records. Since March 2004 the band is on the road divulgating "Echoes in Eternity", and the South America Tour has passed in countries like Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile and whole Brazil, of course. Funeratus played with Morbid Angel in Santiago, Chile, making the open act to the masters of Death Metal, in front of a huge public; more than two thousand people.

Имелось у меня их демо Baptism на кассете, но отправил кому-то по обмену (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile2.gif) там они еще играли сырой death в духе Hellhammer.
