Середина девяностых – золотое время для шведского death metal. Первопроходцы жанра уже выбились в люди, и, воодушевившись их успехом, на сцену вышло новое поколение. К их числу относится и стокгольмский коллектив A Canorous Quintet. Впервые ребята отметились в индустрии звукозаписи ещё в 1994 году с мини-альбомом ”As Tears”, но только через 2 года увидел свет их дебютный полноформатник.
На этой работе сохранена атмосфера первозданности стиля, свойственная дебютным пластинкам Dark Tranquillity и In Flames. Кто помнит эти альбомы, может составить представление о характере композиций A Canorous Quintet. Некоторое отличие состоит в том, что звук получился более резким и жужжащим, придавая музыке несколько большую агрессивность. Ребята часто меняют темп игры, переходя от быстрых фрагментов к медленным и среднетемповым, и наоборот. Имеются и некоторые запоминающиеся мелодии, которые схватываешь после второго-третьего прослушивания.
