С творчеством группы знаком давно, слушал все альбомы и даже не единожды, но так и не проникся. Часто слышу мнения от людей с неплохим музыкальным вкусом о том, что мол, как минимум, дебютный альбом о***нен. Вчера читал интервью с Малестором Кадотусом (Musta Kappeli, Anal Blasphemy, лэйбл Hammer Of Hate), там были следующие строки

. Впрочем, судя по интервью, вкусы у него в целом не особо схожи с моими, но как ни странно, его собственное музло мне нравится, да и группы издаёт неплохие в большинстве своём. В общем, это сподвигло меня переслушать пресловутый ITNE.
...что могу сказать по поводу альбома: местами гитарные темы встречаются вполне себе неплохие, порой даже цепляющие, но как только появляются клавишные - весь мрак сходит на нет и создаётся впечатление, что слушаешь саундтрек к мультику про снежную королеву. А клавиш тут, прямо скажем, дохрена. Вот если бы их убрать - могло бы получиться что-то интересное, а так, вряд ли у меня возникнет желание переслушивать сие творение в ближайшие годы (до тех пор, пока очередной ценитель не начнёт мне втирать о ни**ической крутизне этого мегашедевра классики блэка). Между прочим, я не являюсь ярым противником клавиш (как и каких-либо других инструментов) в блэке. Просто использовать их нужно грамотно. Эмперор вот нехило переборщили, на мой взгляд.
Переслушаю-ка я их демки ранние, помнится, на одной из них клавиш не было вообще.

Нужно обладать недюжинным терпением, чтобы дослушать этот альбом до конца. И нужно быть невероятно милосердным, чтобы пощадить звукорежиссера, который этот альбом сводил. Собственно говоря, он альбом свел в дерьмо. Весь труд музыкантов пошел прахом. Низы и середина остались не удел, видимо этот полубольной аудиофил от высоких частот тащится. Впрочем и там тоже все дико мутно. В общем, альбом орет, но при этом ни черта не слышно. Вокалиста задвинули назад, ударные тоже как-будто из-за какой-то пелены. Гитара вроде бы временами начинает звучать мощно, но тут же исчезает практически бесследно. Бас-бочки и вовсе убрали из записи - и правда, на фига они нужны?

Что и говорить, малоизвестный альбом этой группы, вышедший в 1997-м году, по всем параметрам данный опус превосходит. И по звуку и по содержанию.
