Exploited не совсем мое(больше нравится G.B.H. and Discharge), но Beat The Bastards мой любимый альбом, крышу сносит капитально!

После 1990 года и альбома 'The Massacre' The Exploited как-то притихли. Это совпало с окончанием деятельности Маргарет Тэтчер на посту премьер-министра Великобритании, активно воспеваемой в предыдущих альбомах. И вот, находясь уже в новой, посттэтчеровской социальной реальности, в 1996 году банда выпустила первый за 6 лет альбом — 'Beat the Bastards'. Да, к тому моменту многие проблемы о которых возопил Вотти все 80-ые были решены, в частности, катастрофическая безработица, но всё же, сколько ни прибегай к конкретике, а социальные вопросы — тема воистину планетарная и повод подекламировать о несправедливости мироустройства найдётся и без старушки Мэгги.

В музыкальном плане альбом стал во многом повторением предыдущих работ, но общий уровень материала стал более сглаженным что ли.. В звуке гитарок прибавилось трэшовой сухости, что довольно символично в плане некоторой деактуализации панк-рока как социального явления. Голос Вотти стал позлее, поматёрее, и это один из главных плюсов. Соло-гитарка по-прежнему звучит очень по-эксплоитедовски, кто бы её ни держал в руках. Видимо, у Вотти есть свой рецепт, передаваемый от гитариста к гитаристу, которых перебывало в составе множество.

К слову о гитаристе. Некий не названный гитарист, записывавший партии для 'Beat the Bastards' бесследно свалил из студии, не завершив начатое, что вызвало лютое негодование Вотти: «Этот придурок просто взял и с[мат->бан]ал! Слышь, урод, я подожгу твой дом, [мат->бан]а, запомни!» В итоге кто-то конечно дозаписал гитарки, а в буклете в качестве гитариста значится Jamie Buchan.. Кто такой этот Jamie? А это сын Вотти, который вряд ли имел причастность к альбому как минимум в силу грудного возраста.

Hmmm, today I gave another listen to all their stuff from Massacre till Fuck and can`t but agree with you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/25.gif) However, all their albums are quite speedy and catchy, from UK punk to metal and hardcore - influenced punk. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/9.gif)
