Отличное развитие идей появившихся на "Among The Living". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/metaler.gif) Причём здесь уровень парней и как композиторов и в конце-концов как музыкантов поднялся нехило. Первое чем альбом подкупает - обилие красивых соло - Дэни и Скотт от души постарались. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif) Про то что вытворяет Чарли я вообще молчу - такое лупилово отвязных скорострельных ударных, пожалуй ещё только на "Persistence Of Time" можно встретить.

Обсуждаемый альбом вобщем-то всегда нравился больше, чем его "золотой" предшественник "Among The Living" - тут уже и скорости повыше и риффы потяжелее. На пару с метловским "... And Justice For All", считаю "State Of Euphoria" лучшим альбомом в американском трэше конца 80-х.

Вчера слушал Anthrax "State Of Euphoria" (1988)...
И тогда, и теперь слышится он мне крайне неубедительным альбомом. После яркого жгучего Among The Living (1987), где парни дали волю хулиганской разухабистости и потом развили её на матерных ипишках, тут вдруг Антракс решили сыграть в трэшеров-профессионалов. Все вещи звучат подчеркнуто технично и клёво саранжированы, да и мелодии есть, песни-то хорошие. Но как-то всё зажато получилось и слишком правильно, драйв и кайф утекают сквозь пальцев, и становится скуучно. Причем с самой первой тягомотной Би Ол Энд Ол. А мелодия-то, повторюсь, очень даже хороша. |

а по мне, так это замечательный альбом, на котором полным-полно отличных песен! и потом, разве у сабжа были какие-то "в копейку" одинаковые опусы? вот уж, фигушки. всё время чёто мутят, кидает их туда-сюда))
а этот релиз ещё и довольно-таки мрачный по своей атмосфере. возможно, конечно, в этом заслуга "общего замедления", в темпе... но, тем не менее. тут нема "хулиганской разухабистости", тут какая-то тотальная безысходность, на стыке с безумной внутренней яростью, у которой от этой самой безысходности не осталось сил на тотальный протест, в виде шквальных риффов на сверх-скоростях)) получилось, как по мне, весьма удачно. плюс, кое-что развили далее, на следующем альбоме, также ещё более успешно. |

Отличный альбом - скоростной, мелодичный, с прекрасным вокалом и пластом красивых трэш песен. Вот именно такое развитие группы было бы в самую масть, но их понесло в Персистенс, который какой то слишком не мой. А вот такой Антракс идеален - трэш, каким он должен быть - здесь и сконцентрированная мужская ярость и своё лицо. Замечательный релиз, который не потерял своего очарования спустя почти 30 лет.
