Один из самых великих, на мой взгляд, альбомов в истории блэк-металла - по крайней мере, уверен, в десятку лучших входит точно. В то же время, я всегда считал финнов очень своеобразной группой в рамках стиля, непохожей на других, со своим легко узнаваемым оригинальным почерком. И уж, конечно, нельзя называть Thy Serpent просто "black metal" без каких-то других дополнительных эпитетов. Лично я обозначил бы стиль группы полностью, как atmosferic melodic black metal. Атмосферность достаточно типична, она создаётся характерными насыщенными монументальными клавишными, а вот мелодичность довольно своеобразна - по своему характеру это печальная и меланхоличная мелодика, та самая знаменитая "финская грусть". Открывающая альбом Flowers Of Witchery Abloom именно такова - неторопливый грустный блэк с романсо-подобным оттенком. Но далее идёт более энергичная вещь Of Darkness And Light - настоящий атмосферно-мелодичный блэк в своей полной красе, быстрый и изящный. Если говорить о красоте мелодий, то альбом кладезь таковых, и особенно шедеврально смотрятся две из них - проигрыш (3:07-4:55) в A Traveller Of Unknown Plains и отрезок из Only Dust Moves..., начиная с 5:05 до конца. Такая мелодия (Only Dust Moves... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) ) может присниться даже во сне - печальная, мега-душевная, и, как будто, наполненная мудростью и тайной мироздания. Like A Funeral Veil Of Melancholy - практически эталонный атмосферный блэк, 11 минут композиции пролетают практически незаметно. Завершает альбом релаксирующая-расслабляющая Wine From Tears... Всего 6 вещей на 48 минут, но все они навсегда остались в моём сердце, ведь подобной прошибающей искренности мало у кого можно услышать, у Thy Serpent же она есть. 9.5/10

Помнится, на Дарксайдовском мп3-диске (то ли Чилдрены, то ли Найтвиш) я услышал "Only Dst Moves...", и охренел. Надолго. Проверем теперь цельный альбом.

Я лет десять назад по радио услышал „Of Darkness and Light” и меня вставило. Везде искал этот альбом. Теперь-то, слава богу, дома диск лежит, а тогда все магазины обегал, но нигде не нашёл. А штука отменная, да. Вообще, у этой группы нет хреновых релизов, но этот, как по мне, самый смачный.

Да она и до сих пор ещё должна валяться в одной из коробок, бережно упрятанных мною в домике на огороде, под лихой кроватью с панцирной сеткой, после того как в один прекрасный момент моя жёнушка приказала избавиться от всей коллекции этих самых кассет, которые, тащемта, действительно лежали дома мёртвым грузом.

Это действительно созданно на века,ты можешь его долго не слушать увлекшись чем то иным,но потом в памяти он всплывет не ожиданно и приятно ,и ты разышешь его среди тонны дисков на полках и донесешь до проигрывателя.......... и в этот момент мир который так яростно живет и шумит за окном на время перестает проникать в тебя,тебя заполняет альбом, лес окутанный закатом,лучи солнца пробивающиеся сквозь кроны многолетних деревьев........чаща тоже готова слушать вместе с тобой!!! потому как это шикарнейшиййййййййй альбомище!!!
