Похоже, этот альбом отбирает пальму первенства самого днищенского полноформата Ensiferum у Unsung Heroes. Потому что там были как минимум Burning Leaves и Retribution, а здесь нет ничего. Совсем ничего нет! Вчерашняя King of Storms оказалась самым вменяемым треком, и то хромая на всю середину. Кроме неё есть неплохие Way of the Warrior и Don't You Say (которая с Петри). Открывашка и Hail to the Victor слушабельны с натяжкой. Всё остальное в мусор сразу же бесповоротно. Кабацкая корпикланщина в God Is Dead и Feast with Valkyries вызывает желание блювать, идея с баяном оказалась дичайшим провалом, это совершенно не то, что нужно (и можно) Ensiferum. Ну и, конечно, АНАЛоговый звук... это я уже молчу о том кошмаре, что тут записано вместо хоров.

Таким образом, слушать это как полноформат не представляется возможным. Почему, мистер Тойвонен, почему? Что Вы делаете?

Кажется, это будет первый альбом Ensiferum, который я не куплю.

Слушаю по второму кругу, впечатления тоже далеко не самые восторженные, но пока не окончательные. Впрочем, я был готов к этому.

Отличная же идея записывать версии песни с разным вокалом, если и чистый, и скрим в большом количестве используются группой. Почему же так редко это встречается...

Думаю, сам баян тут виноват в последнюю очередь, он не причем. Есть же куча примеров его отличного применения в схожем жанре музыки. Да и добавь баян в какой-нибудь Энсиферумовский хитяря - вряд ли сильно изменится восприятие.

Я не знаю, кто сочинял клавишные в каких объёмах. Например, я знаю, что From Afar получился таким шикарным, потому что там Мустонен развернулся на полную со своими аранжировками. А потом ему сказали, мол, нам не надо столько симфо, и теперь он делает только мизер какой-то. Причём на этом альбоме он тоже есть, но тут такие куцые клавишные, что я вообще не понимаю, чем тогда Нетта занималась.

My russian brothers. I don't understand most of what you write but I FEEL, I can FEEL your sadness as well :D This album is shite. Listened to it today.. Just horrible garbage. There were maybe 2-3 MOMENTS in 2 songs that reminded me of the good old days of Ensiferum. But the rest? Just bad.

And the clean vocals guy in the song "Don't You Say".. who is that guy? A 12 year old teenage mutant? Disgusting voice. Amateurish low quality stuff.

Pity for Ensiferum.

Вот мне тоже интересно какой)

Ладно там Бэтори, которые(-ый) в 1990-м именно что "изобрели" викинг-метал, предложив нечто отдельное от существовавших тогда жанров (причем именно что отдельное, потому что когда несколькими годами ранее они "изобретали" блэк, параллельным с ними курсом двигались и другие группы, с викингом же высота бралась "героем-одиночкой" во всех смыслах этого слова).
Ладно Аморфис, который просто никуда не вписывается (ничего не значащий тэг "melodic metal" просьба не называть).

The album is shit indeed, the only real Ensiferum moment I spotted is the end of King of Storms when the only real choir on the album kicks in.

And that guy is Markus Toivonen... only recorded in 1 take :D As well as many other album parts as the band stated. But instead of capruting "the live feel" the captured the sheit feel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/1488.gif)

haha!! hey Wolfie! :D been ages huh? Nice to see u still dedicated ^^ Dunno to be honest, we had a falling out a few years ago and havent heard from him, had some real life things to deal with and havent even paid much attention to the metal scene as well. But I was so shocked by this Ensiferum abomination that I had to come here and see if there's something wrong with me or it's really that bad :D Thanks for giving me back some faith haha.
