Клонировалка у них не выросла кагбе. За 30 с лишним лет не появилось ни одного действительно достойного подражателя, да и не появится, уверен. Судя по тому, что можно услышать на БК, на этот раз американцы не пытаются копировать своего вдохновителя так открыто, как на предыдущем альбоме, да оно и к лучшему. Пусть лучше пытаются что-то свое делать.

Мне шведы Trial показались довольно интересными. Attic, Portrait, In Solitude да, колхоз. Первый Them тоже не впечатлил, новый ещё не слушал. Другое дело, что если ты в понятие "достойный подражатель" вкладываешь, чтобы именно уровня оригинала был - то таких нет. И вряд ли будут, потому что если в какой-то группе и сойдутся таланты уровня Кинга Даймонда и Энди Ля Рока, то будут свою оригинальную музыку играть, скорее всего.

Exactly; the guys try to branch into other paths now with both thrash and power/speed metal clearly felt, among other influences. I don't know if this is the better option... I really liked the King Diamond/Mercyful Fate-oriented debut.

Да-да, об этом я и сам писал когда-то. Косплейщики, судя по всему, думают, что если у одного участника группы получается худо-бедно петь фальцетом, то можно смело замахиваться на Кинга нашего Даймонда )) А гитаристов с почерком и техникой Ла Рока или Блэкка еще поискать. И главная загвоздка - нужен композиторский талант. Так что тут полностью согласен - люди с такими скиллами едва ли будут распыляться на проекты, которые не принесут адекватной финансовой отдачи.

Да, чуток получше перечисленного, но все же не уровень КД. К тому же скукотища откровенная в плане самой музыки.

Если говорить о действительно сильных группах, вдохновляющихся Даймондом, то я бы выделил дроверовский Eidolon. Конечно, не такой откровенный косплей, но влияние чувствуется.
