Naas Alcameth непрерывно использует оригинальные приёмы с дебютника N., который вышел самым вдохновенным и даже новаторским, в некотором смысле.
Поэтому "Death and the Black Work" мне запомнился, я весьма высокого мнения о нём.
А затем пошли его многочисленные (под разными титлами) графоманские копии с копии с копии с копии, каждая из которых всё бледнее и бледнее предыдущей, не говоря уж про указанный оригинал.
Проводник в тупик, в общем. Не смог переварить. Опять.

Как раз в ноябре переслушивал собрание сочинений Nightbringer. А потому по свежим впечатлениям есть мнение, что новый материал мог быть выпущен под какой угодно вывеской. Тут различия больше в составе участников, которые по большей части играют под дудку одного человека. Энергетически это все очень близкие друг к другу коллаборации. Поэтому, есть нравится Nightbringer, то понравится и Akhlys. Лично мне такое вкатывает, но малыми дозами. Иначе говоря, если условный Дарктрон можно слушать 3-4-5 старых альбомов подряд. То вот по одному подряд Nightbringer / Akhlys подряд вдумчиво осилить получится у самых поехавших эстетов. Вся эта музыка сольется в один неразличимый поток. Но так, скорее всего, и было задумано. Да, и если перемешать треки в плейлисте, то хрен кто отличит что сейчас играет.

Атмосфера у альбома есть, убойная, мистически-космическая что ли. Звук вычистили, дорожек звуковых напичкали под завязку. Безусловно, качественный и проработанный материал. Как минимум, по форме тут вопросов нет. И пусть кинет в меня камень тот человек, кто считает, что форма в Black Metal не важна. Всю свою историю жанр пляшет вокруг формы, под которую придумываются смыслы. В остальном доверюсь коллективному бессознательному - что-то здесь есть, цепляющее и интригующее. Крутой альбом.

хз, мне всегда казалось что Akhlys по сравнению с Nightbringer композиционно попроще и помедленнее в целом. Но в силу этого больше акцент на атмосферу.
Альбом шикарный.

И мне понравилось.
По первому прогону так даже показался лучшим альбомом года.
После второго/третьего уже не такое категоричное мнение, но все равно и однозначно - альбом в коллекцию.
Последняя песня Incubatio - божественна.....
