В принципе, альбом хороший, интересный, хотя к концу я все же утомился все эти навороты слушать. Кстати, немало гостей на нем засветилось, включая Терренса Хоббса, Дэйва Сузуки и еще каких-то неведомых мне персонажей.

Yeah it gets a bit much toward the end, requires a few spins to get into it, unusual structures and sound.

I liked it good Tech Death. Very dense thou, takes a few cups of coffee.

Found a great review that pretty much nails it.

"Of the music, there’s much of note. Profanity’s brand of technical death metal is dense and complex. The band craft music that’s designed to be an impenetrable mess of ridiculous guitars, inhuman drums, and convoluted solos. Unexpected structuring, strange time changes, and all-over-the-shop songwriting choices make for tracks that are as incomprehensible as they are off-putting. But all this, of course, is entirely the point. Fragments of Solace isn’t for the uninitiated, and even though some of the above description might not sound to complimentary on the surface, it should nonetheless be taken in a complimentary way, as Profanity are damn good at what they do."

Да, добротный альбом. Все по канонам. Ничего сверхъестественного, но в жанре выходит не так много хороших вещей. А данный альбом как-то обделен вниманием.
Довольно интересная закрученная структура песен, которая часто состоит из головного риффа, который регулярно прерывается на середине. По большому счету, это как история, рассказанная с многочисленными флэшбэками, если смонтировать в другом порядке, будет все прямолинейно и просто. Поэтому в целом на выходе получается на самом деле сложности в структурах-то и нет.

Слушаю ребят в первый раз, больше показались похожими на Deadborn, т.к. тоже немцы и есть у них какие-то общие характерные черты. Хотя по духу еще можно сказать похожи на Decrepit Birth, но менее мелодичные.

Некоторый кусок альбома обсуждал со своим учителем по гитаре, который не особо в дэт-металл (от слова совсем) и он сказал, что "Впечатление такое как будто мне голову выворачивают наизнанку". Собственно, отличный отзыв на альбом.
