наилюбимейший альбом команды (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) первые четыре песни выносят вперёд ногами и вверх тормашками (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crazy.gif) Strength Beyond Strength почитаю лучшей у коллектива. Море идей, прекрасные риффы, забойные тексты - что ещё надо? и кавер очень в тему (IMG:style_emoticons/default/20.gif) 10/10 тут катастрофически мало, это классика.

Кроме культового гимна радиопередачи А.Ф. Скляра "Учитесь Плавать!" - песни Becoming pray.gif - всё остальное на этом альбоме похоже на жалкие потуги повторить успехи или заменить Металлику 21.gif

Объясните мне, в каком месте здесь хотя бы намёк на металлику? Совершенно другая музыка - и по звучанию (гитара Даймбэга здесь звучит просто великолепно), и по т.н. настроению, по подходу к написанию муз. материала...

а в целом однообразно и неинтересно.

Однообразно? surp.gif Во всём альбоме нет и двух похожих риффов, по-моему. По этой части у Дайма и пацанов вроде бы всегда (начиная с Ковбоев) всё было отлично - практически каждая песня индивидуальна (это касается всех пяти альбомов 1990 - 2000).
Насчет "неинтересно" - кому как, конечно. Я, когда впервые услышал FBD, тоже практически ничего не запомнил (кроме аутро-риффа из 5 Minutes Alone), но потом так затянуло, что я даже на гитаре практически весь альбом разучил...
Вот вчера по дороге с работы домой переслушивал, Hard Lines, Sunken Cheeks, Shedding Skin и Throes Of Rejection порвали сильнее других, хотя все 12 песен, по-моему - pure gold.
Один из моих любимых альбомов вообще (в первой пятёрке точно).

Крутая работа, наверно лучшая в грув-метале.
Начинал слушать Пантеру именно с сабжа. В первые же минуты офигел, что можно одновременно играть так жёстко и мелодично - каждая тема альбома, ни в пример творчеству нынешних грувовых банд, отличается своей своеобразной атмосферой, мелодией и риффингом. Отдельно тут надо выделить работающие как часы сочные лупящие со всей дури ударные Винии Пола, придающие всей музыке эффект каменного кулака сокрушающего мозг слушателя наповал - у Пантеры вообще ударные всегда были одними из лучших в металическом цеху.
Дэррилл как гитарист проявил тут себя на 100%, приготовив ядрённый коктель из трэшевого чёса, жирного качёвого грува и сумасшедших местами психоделичных соло. На мой взгляд, сабж - его лучшая гитарная работа.
бас Рекса просто обожаю, в том числе и здесь: монолитный и основательный, как стена из бетонных блоков, выдающий плотнейшие низы и словно бульдозер, толкающий всю музыку всё вперёд и вперёд.
Про рык Фила Ансельмо ничего кроме "Это ох(IMG:style_emoticons/default/12.gif) етительно!!" и не скажешь здесь.
Вот уже почти десять лет альбом остаётся самым любимым у Пантеры.

ИТОГ: 8.5/10 -- заслуженная оценка этому полноформатнику. не скажу ,что большинство тем тут прям - таки цепляют и хочется переслушивать бесконечное кол-во раз, но ! имеются тут ,несомненно несколько тем ,за которые группа заслуживает хороший бал, вкупе с замечательной ритм-секцией и хорошей записью материала.

Metallica зализывает мозоли после 3-летнего тура, Megadeth ещё 2 года назад с головой ушли в хардроковый мелодизм, Slayer буксует, пытаясь повторить успех 3-х летней давности, Anthrax ударились в хулиганские экперименты... и можно было сказать: "Век трэша окончен!"...если бы ни одно НО! Уже ни первый год по пятам "Великой Четвёрки" шла банда техасских ковбоев, имевшая довольно, как теперь выражаются, гламурное название, ставшее в последствии синонимом высококлассного грув/ангри-метала."
