Трупный ЯдГруппа образована в 1986 году в Мурманске, в одной из береговых частей ВМФ, где нынешний лидер группы - Валерий Михайлянц - проходил срочную службу. Все музыканты первого состава - матросы срочной службы, все из разных городов. "Матросское происхождение" группы тщательно скрывалось, об этом знали только "доверенные лица" в городе, у которых они переодевались и хранили инструменты, вплоть до 1988-го работали в гриме.

После "Атлантов-86" вступили в рок-клуб. Названием "Биметалл" прикрывались в тех случаях, когда организаторов концертов или фестивалей коробило от словосочетания "Трупный Яд", т.е. вешались афиши "Биметалл", а перед концертом объявлялось настоящее название. Впрочем, большая часть потенциальной публики об этом знала, поэтому особой путаницы не возникало, а с тех пор, как людей стало корчить от словосочетания "макроэкономическая стабилизация", название "Биметалл" больше не использовалось.

В 1988 году после увольнения все остались в Мурманске. Работали от рок-клуба до тех пор, пока его не взял под опеку комсомол. После этого печального события ушли в концертное бюро при филармонии (МКБ).

В 1990-м, после работы с "Крематор" в "ночных шоу", организаторами этих самых шоу им была предложена работа в Питере, куда они и уехали по окончании концертов. Как только была завершена новая программа, фирма "Интер" поставила условия: смена названия и кое-какие изменения в текстах, на что "Трупный Яд", конечно, не пошли. В планах был фестиваль в Архангельске и концерты в Мирном, куда группа и отправилась, а затем решила остаться.

С концертами группа обычно ездит летом, а зимой работает в студии. Результатами этих зимних сессий стали два демоальбома.
