На этой работе польский коллектив наконец-то обрел своё собственное лицо, самоутвердился, достиг совершенства, если хотите.
Такого плотного, скоростного и чуть суховатого саунда, насыщенного пулемётными очередями ударника, Vader придерживается и по сей день.
Один из лучших альбомов группы.

Зато уже на втором альбоме Вадер раскрылся во всей своей угрюмой величавости и подтянутой мощи. Последняя грамотно подчеркнута жирным, объемным и в тоже время тугим звуком. Особенно впечатляет он в моменты среднетемпового морбидоподобного наползания риффов под "швейный строч" ударных, как в начале и конце заключительной "Reborn in Flames" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile4.gif) Ну и конечно очень бодрят слеероообразные скоростные пробежки, которыми кстати здесь группа не злоупотребляет, в отличии от, например, следующего альбома (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile3.gif) Но главный плюс "De Profundis" - это умное и разнообразное композиционное построение песен. Здесь нет простого чередования медленных-быстрых фрагментов, которым группа любила прикрываться в дальнейшем, здесь в некоторых песнях (как пример - "Sothis") даже можно проследить некое логическое развитие композиции, "нарастание настроения" вплоть до кульминации, что мало кому по плечу вообще (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dooo.gif)
Ну и отдельно стоит сказать об удивительно вкусном риффинге (в среднетемповых частях, на скорости группа как раз не блещет фантазией, но ей во время скоростных проходов вообще трудно блистать, сами понимаете (IMG:style_emoticons/default/1488.gif) ), который позволяет альбому встать в один ряд с лучшими образцами жанра, даром что вышел он в году когда олдскул был уже на излете. Наверное, единственное что не хватает этой безусловно лучшей работе в дискографии поляков так это какого-нибудь валящего с ног суперхита, которые начиная уже со следующего альбома (и до 2006-го включительно) начнут появляться у группы в количестве стабильно одна штука на альбом

Альбом однозначно крут. Кстати, первое что бросается в глаза, это акцент г-на Вивчарека, у меня сразу в башке всплывает "рязанский английский" Борова и всяческий Thrash Around Kremlin и I'm a President.
