Следил за выходом Cosmogenesis с лета прошлого года. Промо порадовало несказанно, всего по трём трекам было видно, что Obscura собирает mental tribute многим значительным фигурам в death metal. Вот альбомчик и вышел. Что я могу сказать?

Это событие значительно скорее не как вещь в себе, не как обращаемое явление, а как черта, которая подытоживает ушедшее десятилетие. Для мировой экономики девяностые закончились 11 сентября 2001 года, для музыки - где-то летом 2003го; 13 декабря 2001го года от рака мозга умер Чак Шульдинер; 2004й ознаменовал новую веху в развитии тяжика, выстрелив таким количеством громких шедевров от мейнстримовых коллективов, что оно в абсолютном значении перекрылось только четырьмя годами позже. Металл стал прилизанным, оброс совершенно неутилитарными побрякушками, огорошил core-овой деградацией, звуковым истощением, в общем, зеркалом отразил все изменения, принесённые уродским симбиозом капитализма и либерализма. Кризис, который бахнул в конце прошлого года принесёт изменения и в культуре, я гарантирую это. Десятилетие-0х длилось шесть с половниной лет, но по инерции гламур будет проявлять себя и в будущем.

В общем, всё сделано на высоком уровне, все стилистические и ментальные связи с музыкой групп Necrophagist, Death и других (здесь уже много об этом говорили - и намного лучше меня) выдержаны и сбалансированы. Слушается ненапряжно, на одном дыхании, только первая половина альбома получилась мягче, чем хотелось бы. Jeroen Paul Thesseling принёс в дом весьма своеобразную животинку - безладовый бас, чьё мяуканье то нежно аки шерсть перса, то кусюче аки пасть сиамской кошки. Барабанисту зачёт, гитаристу тоже, вокал хотелось бы плотнее. Отдельно хотелось бы поснобствовать в отношении звука - всё чисто, всё на своих местах, всё прекрасно слышится, только гармония полимелодики в соло посредине и в конце трека Incarnated лучше реализована в Promo CD, где средние частоты гитары подрезаны U-образным способом, а в полноформатном альбоме они как минимум не опущены ниже 0 db и это съедает объёмный рифф в басовой партии, исчез кач. Короче, первая версия понравилась больше. Композиция Orbital Elements - самая слабая в альбоме. Но она тем полезна, что после такой усыпляющей вялости у музыки открывается второе дыхание и безудержное рубилово длится уже до самого конца без оговорок. Это трек Desolate Spheres - быстрый, напористый, импульсивный. ...Psycroptic, подавитесь на фиг! Вот как надо было играть ваш ObServant! Ни одного проходного такта! Вокалист сменил свои неубедительные похрипывания на плотное рычание и вообще в контексте всех композиций такой вокал был бы предпочтительнее, ну да не будем тыкать пальцем. Всё равно здорово. Правда, почему-то после первого прослушивания больше не хочется крутить по новому кругу Cosmogenesis, да я и не настаиваю.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/1488.gif) кстати, такое же ощущение - слушать больше не хочется( (IMG:style_emoticons/default/25.gif) )- это у меня возникает, когда услышу чтонибудь аховое, но с перспективой расслушать огромное количество вкусных нюансов-я так могу несколько месяцев потом не слушать, а просто предвкушать-вот такие пироги-зато потом ....ээээх разложу по грамулечке и надолго окунусь-но такое редко бывает-и только в техникале-и только с любимыми мною вещами....их десятка два наберется наверно за 20 лет....
