Hunter was formed in 1986 in Szczytno, in the Mazurian Lakes. It all began when Paweł Grzegorczyk (guitar) met Grzegorz Sławiński (drums). At first there was no greater ideology behind it. They just wanted to play music and have fun.
The name of the band, doesn't have any special meaning behind it either. They took it from the Def Leppard song "Die Hard the Hunter".

Michał Jelonek played with many bands and artists: Collegium Musicum, Theatre Diaspora, Ankh, Closterkeller, De Press, Firebirds, Freak of Nature, Grejfrut, Kasa, Lizar, Łzy, Mafia, Maybe-b, Orkiestra Dni Naszych, Perfect, Szwagierkolaska, Teatr Kobiet, Tosteer, T-Raperzy znad Wisły, Wilki, Maryla Rodowicz, Ilona Sojda, Wojciech Gąsowski, Stan Borys.

In 2008 one of the co-founders of Hunter, Grzesiek "Brooz" Słowiński, left the band. He was replaced by Darek "Daray" Brzozowski.
