Стиль The Duskfall скорее можно назвать power with harsh vocals, но...но играют они все же ближе к мело-дэту. Из всех новых команд,играющих в этом стиле, появившихся после года эдак 2000, эта мне нравится больше всех. Остальные альбомы менее интересны, так как начался самоплагиат:(.

Очень необычный альбом в рамках Даскфолла - неоклассические соло Магнуса Олссона и чистый вокал в одной песне придают колорита музыке. Неожиданно не оправдались мои ожидания насчет закоренелой смдм-щины таким образом, альбом слушается на одном дыхании.

В своё время дебютный альбом The Duskfall явился большим праздником для всех поклонников Melodic Death Metal-легенды Gates Of Ishtar - группы, распавшейся на самом пике своей популярности. The Duskfall был создан двумя участниками G.O.I. - гитаристом М.Сандорфом и ударником О.Карлссоном. Как оказалось, новая группа, действительно, продолжает традиции своей предшественницы, но при этом есть и существенные отличия. Например, сохраняя чисто шведский дух и шведское же МДМ-звучание, музыка приняла более современные формы, стала чуть "моднее", появились лёгкие элементы модерна (немного, по минимуму). Но самое главное, на месте основной плюс всех шведских мелодик-дэтовых команд - умение создавать красивые душевные цепляющие мелодии, вплетённые в дэт-металлический драйв. Самыми хитовыми вещами здесь, на Frailty, я назвал бы None ("тёплый" берущий за душу соло-рефрен), Farewell Song - (шедевральный проигрыш, с которого начинается вещь, и которым заканчивается; ударные Оскара звучат просто гениально!), Just Follow (хит иного плана - с тем самым новомодным звучанием), Deliverance (заводные типично шведские рифы), и, конечно, очередной "новый гимн" SMDM Agoraphobic ( (0:53-1:17) - мой любимый проигрыш на альбоме; (1:18-1:44) - чистейший Gates Of Ishtar; (1:48-2:07) - очень красивый неоклассик). Мастерство чудо-драммера Оскара Карллсона существенно повышает общий уровень ритма всех композиций - каждой бы группе такую безупречную молотобойную машину! Альбом, входящий, на мой взгляд, в классику всего шведского мелодик-дэта. Как минимум, 9/10.
