Мне очень понравился этот альбом, хотя услышал я его не так давно. Медленный и мясной death, иногда со скоростными вставочками. К фаворитам отношу перекочевавшие сюда из предыдущей демки песни Death Dragons of the burning twilight, а также Rivers of the dead, и заглавное интро.

Альбом, безусловно, крепкий и мощный, но нет того разнообразия, что есть в том же 91-м у Entombed и Dismember, а по мощи все же Grave будет предпочтительнее. Для себя выделил The Rite Of Sacrifice, Dragons of the Burning Twilight , Rivers of the Dead , и Descend to the Ashes.

По-моему, это скучный второй эшелон. Альбом не лишен прелестей старой шведской школы death metal, но интересного ничего не слышу.
Удовольствие на 6-7/10.

Возможно некоторым кажется что второй эшалон из-за того, что слишком поздно открыли для себя этот альбом. В начале/середине 90-х наверняка были бы положительные отзывы. Хороший, крепкий альбом, достойный звук старой школы.

Альбом не "кажется", а является вторым эшелоном. И неважно когда кто его для себя открыл - я вот, например, Gorement или God Macabre тоже для себя недавно открыл, но сразу отнес их к первому эшелону, потому что альбомы у них реально круты. А тут - просто крепкий середнячок.

Наоборот - это сейчас альбом имеет шансы на положительные отзывы, потому что у многих принято хвалить старые альбомы исключительно за принадлежность к "классическим временам" и тогдашним канонам, не обращая внимание на их качество как таковое. Т.е. альбом хвалится только за то, что он "в старых добрых традициях", а не за то, насколько хорошо он себя в этих традициях проявляет.
А как раз в начале 90-х на него бы вряд ли обратили внимание, потому что тогда никакого "старого доброго" не было, было "настоящее" и в этом настоящем на фоне других альбом терялся.

в 90е и хвалимый тобой Gorement мало кому был нужен))
в целом, занятная затея - расставлять древние группы по неким "эшелонам" в 2017 году. но - бесполезная.
значимость того или иного альбома может быть переосмыслена, со временем - факт.
что не отменяет такого хитрого нюанса, что в т.н. реальном времени на тот же самый альбом всем было наплевать))

ну, между данным опусом и альбомом горя - несколько лет разницы (1991 и 1994), а тогда это был Срок.
так что, их сравнивать не очень честно. я, собственно, сабж-то и не расхваливаю, мне всё одно - хоть бы они ничего и не записали))
тогда другие имена гремели. а сейчас - каждый сам для себя решает, круто это или нет.
