Metalucifer was formed in 1995, as a side-project of Gezol (Gezolucifer), frontman of the legendary Sabbat (Jpn).

Samm is Gezol's brother.

The Heavy Metal Hunter who shows up on almost all of the Metalucifer covers is Neal "Metal Master" Tanaka, one of the most famous Heavy Metal collectors and die hard supporters worldwide. He is kind of unofficial leader of all the Heavy Metal Hunters worldwide.

Name of the band is taken from Sabbat (Jpn) song "Metalucifer and Evilucifer" ("Evoke" album, 1992).
