Достаточно послушать пару первых песен, и сразу станет ясно, чем Symphony X отличаются от многих исполнителей power metal: нетривиальностью развития песенных линий. Допустим, в Of Sins And Shadows это появление «оперного» фрагмента совсем не исходило из общего течения мелодии, а в Sea Of Lies столь нетрадиционная для пауэра вокальная партия (ее часть) совсем не диктовалась логикой развития песни. Дальше группа просто пошла в разнос. Для тех, кто не слышал The Accolade, это типа «King Crimson, ELP Mekong Delta встречаются, бухают и играют джем. Pharaoh – жесткий прог-метал. Про заглавный эпик вообще сложно что-либо сказать. Его надо слушать много раз, искать знакомые вещи и удивляться незнакомым. Пожалуй, соглашусь, что это – вершина творчества Symphony X.
