У Сандорфа гораздо более офигенные альбомы выходили до этой демки. В составе Gates Of Ishtar. Почти все творчество The Duskfall сильно уступает GoI, впрочем эта демка рулит, ибо является логическим продолжением альбомов Gates Of Ishtar.

Итак, легендарные Gates Of Ishtar распались, записав последний альбом Dusk & Forever в 1998-м году. Лидер группы Микаэль Сандорф собрал новую команду под названием The Duskfall, куда привлёк другого участника G.O.I. - одного из лучших барабанщиков всего шведского death-metal Оскара Карлссона. Демо Deliverance (2001) - первый продукт новой группы. Естественно, это всё тот же сочно-мелодичный Melodic Death Metal с чисто шведским звуком и характерными рифами, что и G.O.I., но есть и отличия. Сандорф и Ко чуть-чуть "усовременнили" звучание, появился лёгкий-лёгкий налёт модерна - точнее даже, может быть, только намёк на эту "модерновость", что-то такое от звучания первых альбомов набиравших тогда популярность Gardenian и Soilwork. Например, к подобным элементам отношу и манеру пения бэк-вокалистки - девушки с довольно своеобразным голосом. Но всё это мелочи жизни - тяжести, драйва энд ультрамелодичности (этой коронной фишки G.O.I.) здесь хватает сполна! Dawnskies смело можно записывать в число гимнов SMDM. Оскар Карллсон играет в этой композиции просто феноменально, на запредельном уровне. Риф (01:00-01:25) неизменно поднимает настроение своим драйвом и жизнеутверждающим оптимизмом, а уже следующий проигрыш (01:25-01:50) ОЧЕНЬ похож на мелодию с альбома G.O.I.'98. Иштароподобная мелодия царит и в Taking Control - за первые 23 секунды этого трека вполне можно музыкантам памятник при жизни ставить! На You're The Light снова дали возможность немного попеть той девушке, а Оскар в очередной раз дал мастер-класс забойно-метеорной игры на ударных инструментах. Плавно переходим от этой вкуснейшей демки к дегустации полноформатника Frailty (2002). 9.5/10
