От демки к демке Cynic прогрессировал и видоизменялся. Как в плане line-up, так и в музыкальном плане. Качевые трэшевые риффы плавно подобрались к непонятного вида ритм-секции, на которую сверху можно было бы прикрепить любое соло - венчал это великолепие Jason Gobel на How Could I. Однако задел на fusion образца 1991 года (Roadrunner Records) разделил слушателей на две категории - тех, кто утверждался в ложности пути Cynic и тех, кому таковое положение вещей наоборот нравилось. Композиционно, progressive metal - очень лояльный стиль. Он позволяет без отторжения принимать в себя большинство из существующих музыкальных мыслеформ, но таким образом ставится под сомнение умение музыкантов мыслить полифонически - считаю, что принцип "что написано пером - не вырубишь топором" должен доминировать. И ответить на вопрос, какой Cynic интереснее, разнообразнее и значительнее для музыкального наследия в целом, невозможно - чем больше слушаешь Demo 1988-1990, равно как и Demo-1991 + Full-length-1993, тем больше появляется нюансов, которые меняют критерии восприятия слышимого.

А был бы Vuvr без Cynic?

Что то по звуку на перекод тянет. Понятно, что оригинальные демо не блистали качеством, но все же недвно нашел в vbr качестве, архив меньше, но звук имхо явно чище.
