Official statement from Arcturus:

A lot of rumours have been going around after our gig in Melbourne. Simen opened the concert with the words "Welcome to the last Arcturus show ever". This is a decision we made some time ago. We all have a lot of things going on in our carreers and our lives, and therefore can not find the time to continue working with this band.

We are humble and grateful to all the people that have supported and loved us over the years.

Started as an atmospheric black metal side-project of Sverd and Hellhammer, who were also playing in a death metal band called Mortem (Nor). Later on, they evolved into an avantgarde band.

Øyvind Hægeland left the band on January 5, 2005, due to work commitments.

Simen Hestnæs officially joined Arcturus as a full time member on January 15, 2005.

Должен был быть на фестивале ProgPower в США, но они своё участие отменили, там их заменит Ihsahn. Но у них должно быть ещё три гигоса: 8-го сентября, на Southern Discomfort 2011 в Норвяжке, 10-го ноября на концерте Avant-Garde Night 2 в Польше, вместе с такими группами, как Virus и Angst Skvadron, и 4-го апреля на Inferno Metal Festival там же, в Норвяжке. В 1994 году на Nocturnal Art вышел CD Constellation c 4 треками.
В 1997 году на том же Nocturnal Art вышел LP Constellation с 8 треками.
Где-то в 1998-1999 году пираты рипнули винил с 8 треками и выпустили этот рип на CD под вывеской Reconstellation. На CD даже слышно потрескивание винила. Позже другие пираты еще раз выпустили Reconstellation на CD, но с чего он штамповался - с винила или с мастер лент, я не знаю.

Ну так La Masquerade Infernale вообще не имеет никакого отношения к Black Metal, даже к самым попсовым его формам. Это просто некий авангардно-прогрессивный рок/метал. Великий альбом.

переслушивая самый разнообразный тру- и оло около-блэк, всё же всегда прихожу к выводу, что именно Arcturus - моя любимая группа (по крайней мере, уж точно входит в топ-3 мегапрэйных блэкушников)! за счёт своей оригинальности, мелодичности и нетривиальности в подходе к музыке... скажу так: лучше один раз услышать их, чем 100 раз - Dimmu Borgir (IMG:style_emoticons/default/15.gif)
