Sepultura means "grave" (sepulchre) in Portuguese (and in some other Latin-based languages). Originally, they wanted to call the band Tropa de Choque (Shock Troops), but found that the name had been used before. The first Sepultura show was on December 4th, 1984. The band played two songs that never were re-recorded or released. He went on to form the alternative/nu metal band Soulfly. Derrick Green, originally from Cleveland, Ohio relocated to Brazil to replace Max as vocalist. Sepultura have largely played as a single guitar band since then, though Green has occasionally played rhythm onstage. Давно уже ничего от коллектива не жду, chaos ad - лебединая песня бразильцев. И было это аж 23 года назад.
Правда, пару дней назад попался новый клип И как следствие появилась некая вера что ли в группу!? Так все гармонично звучит, вокал темнокожего вокалиста впервые не вызвал отвращения, скорее удачно вписался в музыкальное полотно. Ударник просто зверь, потрясающие энергичные партии. Соло Киссера из великого прошлого, тема восточная подкупает, своеобразно для Sepultura. Текст хуковый и клип сам на злобу дня. Если весь альбом выдержан в таком ключе, то поверю в Деда Мороза. Глотка Зелёного явно уступает по лужености и силе Максу. Слышно, что ему тяжко петь, на лайвах вообще это очень чувствуется. |

Макс Кавалера:Где-то с 60-х до середины 70-х в Бразилии царил режим военной диктатуры. Рок-движение преследовалось, но многие исполнители все равно приезжали. Элис Купер, например, был в 1973-м, и Питер Фрэмптон тоже. Был еще концерт Queen в 1981-м, после которого я, собственно, полюбил рок-н-ролл и хеви-метал. Это был тур в поддержку их альбома 'The Game'. В 80-е в Бразилии уже была демократия, но при этом дикие проблемы с госбюджетом. Мы росли в нищете, но работать на заводах по производству обуви и шляп не собирались. Все, что у нас было хорошего, — это метал. Музыка была нашей отдушиной.
