Ещё один случай, когда демовость материала не обламывает при прослушивании. Благодаря Дэну Свано, звук вполне себе, а уж сам материал дико крут! Это не совсем типичное шведское дж-дж от звонка до звонка, а более изысканное и мрачное пиршество ужаса. Несмотря на то что это сборник с миру по нитке, замогильная атмосфера здесь обустроена на славу. Инфернальные клавишные на поддержке, обилие звуковых эффектов: рычание зверя, женский плач… Быстрые ритмы где надо сменяются замедлениями, басуха никогда не выпадает из поля зрения, гитары вдруг срываются в волчий вой или заводят песнь о неупокоённых душах… Это важная и трудно уловимая составляющая в death metal, которую почему-то упускают представители новой волны — атмосфера. Интересно, что творилось в головах благоустроенных шведских парнишек, заставлявшее их играть подобную музыку?
В общем, что болтать — слушайте!

"Dark Domains", a collection of tracks recorded by long-defunct Swedish death metallers ALTAR during their six-year existence from 1989 to 1995, has been made available through Konqueror Records. The 17-track compilation was remastered by Swedish multi-instrumentalist and producer extraordinaire Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio in Sweden and features a brand new exclusive album cover artwork and layout by Poland's Kontamination Design.
