Relapse

Hooded Menace - Effigies Of EvilPim B.: Hooded Menace has made the next step in their career and signed a contract with Relapse Records. This label has now released their third full-length consisting of eight new death/doom tracks. Opener ‘Vortex Macabre’ is the longest song on the album and the great riffs remind me a lot of the brilliant Norwegian band Godsend. Basically not a lot has changed although ‘Effigies Of Evil’ as a whole sounds a bit more melodic. The duo Lasse Pyykkц and Pekka Koskela simply recorded a great album that fans of both doom and death metal could buy. Of course the album will release both on CD and LP, but there is an LP edition with an extra 7” containing covers of the brilliant Swedish band Eternal darkness and Witchfinder General from the UK. This edition is only available through Relapse.

Осень замечательная пора для думовых релизов, в особенности для таких, как последнее творение англичан. Отличнейшая штука, порадовавшая меня куда больше, чем прослушанный перед ним опус пиндосов Daylight Dies. Жестко и олдскульно, именно так, когда уже и не совсем понятно чего здесь больше, бульдозерного дэта или все-таки дума. Конечно не блещет разнообразием музыкальный материал, но ведь и не всегда хочется экспериментов. А тут как будто машина времени какая-то, включил и уже в 90-х.
В общем альбом рекомендую, оцениваю в 4/5 и в топ года включу, пожалуй.

Третий и пока последний альбом финских медленных мясников безглазых могил сырости. Группа не сдаёт своих позиций - всё так же, всё то же. Круто и замечательно. Всем тем, кто пропустил данный релиз - к прослушиванию крайне рекомендуется! Знатный стафф, исполненный в лучших традициях на стыке думища и дэтища. Ни много, ни мало - ЯВЛЕНИЕ на современной немалочисленной сцене подобной музыки.
