Есть ли смысл называть представленное на этом альбоме Dark ambient? Звуковые полотна печальны, унылы, но не мрачны; конкретны, а не размыты. И в пору говорить просто об эмбиенте вроде OST-зарисовок Артемьева. А присутствие клавишных в Might and Misanthropy, De sorte traer с аранжировкой под фолк или гитары в Der bor en frost her inne, And I fade away позволяет говорить о легитимности неофолка, точно также In rain – близка к неоклассике. А если отложить споры о стилистических особенностях, то The Ominous Silence – просто очень запоминающийся спокойный атмосферный альбом, на котором мне особо по нраву And I fade away.
