Чорт, это один из лучших альбомов в жанре хэви, который я вообще когда-либо слышал! Всем рекомендуется

Powerwolf caused a great stir in me. Surely, this is one of the best heavy metal CDs that I've heard in my life. This is very catchy and entertaining, while Lupus Dei remains within the framework of traditional heavy metal (and some power metal influences are obvious). Actually, Powerwolf is fun - isn't it what we're expecting from heavy metal?
The song structures are very traditional as well as the sound. The production is crystal clear and this only adds a lot to the overall quality of this exceptional release. The songs are damn catchy - Prayer In The Dark, Saturday Satan, Behind The Leather Mask, Vampires Don't Die, Mother Mary: these compositions will twist and turn in your head for days and days. Powerwolf is just like a disease: once you've heard the chorus or a catchy line you'll keep on singing it again again.
The singer is a huge advantage of this band. This Romanian fellow has got a very powerful voice of a higher register that fits the music perfectly. Actually, the vocal melodies are the major thing for this album. All songs on Lupus Dei are catchy!! Can you imagine that? I couldn't until I heard Powerwolf...
Another interesting feat are the lyrics. The band flirts with satanism and other obscure stuff, but you shouldn't take it serious. This guys've got even more self-irony than their mates from Dream Evil do. Certainly, the lyrical aspect adds charm to Lupus Dei.

To sum it up, I'll say that this is one of the best albums ever written by modern heavy metal bands, that pay tribute to the mastodons. You'll surely notice huge influences of Iron Maiden and others of that ilk, but Powerwolf have got much more individuality than it seems at first. Highly recommended to everyone

Вполне неплохой альбом, где-то даже с щепотками хеви. Saturday Satan - главный хит. Behind The Leathermask и Mother Mary Is A Bird Of Prey тоже почти на уровне. Скукоту вызвали только 3 песни: заглавная, In Blood We Trust и When The Moon Shines Red.

Уже вторая попытка приобщиться к "классике" группы. Вообще не зашло, получше с идеями, чем на текущем творчестве, но в саунде мощи нет, а без этого не звучит, пафос который позже у них появился все таки идет им. По итогу местечковая группа на любителя, мне лично из пяти альбомов, что у них послушал нравится только трек Кисс оф зе кобра кинг.
