Не понял претензий. Вылизанно, шведы. Это ДТЛ - классический. ДональдДаковский вокал, тихое, приглушенное музло, подача андерграундная. Конечно, обложка получилась не свойственной жанру, да и появились распевки-оркестровки. Но это придало эпичности и горести альбому. Ни о какой опопсации или уж тем более массовости речи нет. Проблема в том, что Азгорх сам себе выкопал могилу своими первыми демками и альбомами. Теперь всё последующее творчество хэйтеры даже не будут слушать, находясь в плену иллюзий о том, что ничего не изменилось. Ничего собственно и не изменилось, только всё стало чуточку чище, эпичней, богаче и современней. Но исключительно в рамках дозволенного.

Приятель, если тебе по нраву "распевки-оркестровки...чище, эпичней, богаче и современней" - на здоровье. Может, тебе и диссекшен нравится, каждому свое, хуле там. Но я котирую несколько иную музыку, которую, в частности, DTL с более чем переменным успехом исполнял раньше. Ту, которая в выкопанной могиле. И данный опус оставил меня в глубоком недоумении.

Впрочем, задним числом вынужден признать, что следы будущей слащавой шведятины уже просматривались на последних ипишках. Просто из-за грязной записи это не так бросалось в глаза.

Не нравится. Но вопрос в том, что ранний ДТЛ душеаней, да. Но он никогда не был предельно холодным, колючим и злым. Всегда была некая лиричность, проскакивал красивый эмбиент, фолковые мотивы. Просто сейчас этого стало чуть больше, плюс вкупе с подчищенным звуком ии Батори-подобными распевками и подубивает.

Помню в Hellraiser 2 проскользнула такая идея , что в Аду твои удовольствия превратятся в навязчивое состояние, в фетиш,в идею фикс, помноженные тысячекратно и усиленные бесконечной монотонностью вкупе со страданиями. Это про предателя Фрэнка Коттона ,который сполна вкусил то , чем занимался всю жизнь.
Так вот. Этот альбом( и все остальные) убивает своей бесконечностью , бесконечным повторением одного и того же ,заунывным и непрекращающимся. Иногда монотонная рутина разбавляется ложкой меда в качестве интересных соло ,но это так незначительно , что тут же тонет в трясине этих зыбучих песков однообразия и однозвучности. И человек, который все это делает осознанно или бессознательно(подобно заключенным в концлагерях выполнявших однообразную и бессмысленную работу) ,превратил свою жизнь и работу в вечный плач.
А...хороший трек Sic Itur Ad Astra , действительно ,но если только его вообще не ассоциировать с этой группой.

sethurius Никогда не замечал за группой подобного. Да, многим кажется однообразным, многие не выдерживают, но это монолитность и выдержанность, зацикленность лично меня привлекают. Нврулить её грамотно немногие могут. Азгорх вот умеет. Мне нравится. Я даже научился наслаждаться подобным. В частности, с большим удовольствием прослушал забитое под завязку 2-х дисковое издание The Fallen Years (IMG:style_emoticons/default/1488.gif)

Понравился, однако. Альбом мелодичен, монолитен, с хорошим таким сырым звуком.
Он не претендует на шедевральность, в нём нет ничего выдающегося, но слушается всё это вовлечённо, с интересом.

с первых нот слышно, что в составе Balam. новый альбом - Pestilential Shadows'овский напор помноженный на собственно DtL-овскую эпичность и неожиданно НЕсырое качество звука. выделяется на фоне всего остального, в плане звука. в целом - очередной хороший альбом от Azgorh'а.

Много чего я у него не слушал, а что слушал, так это были ранние работы которые я уже плохо помню, а времени для ознакомления не хватает. Поэтому этот альбом стал для меня откровение Drowning The Light. Романтично-эпичная работа в духе последних работ Eternum и немного Pestilential Shadows. It's almost impossible to know the whole discography of Drowning The Light. Too many releases. There is not much difference between them and most of them are mediocre and forgettable. At least I remember some of them as vampyric lo-fi, raw Black Metal. Like a copy of Satanic Warmaster. In a way everything is fine, but lacks something at the same time and is not as good as Finnish band. This album is different and the cover is finally colorful. The music is more melodic, vocals are cleaner, songs are more interesting, the production and quality are better. It's even closer to Summoning than 90's Norway as usual. Unfortunately the last tracks are boring. Not bad album though. Listenable from time to time.

SW sounds no that epic to me. Partly agree about the number of releases but few years ago he put a lot of his demos and ep`s into compilation so the number slightly decreased. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/5.gif) Not all of his releases are brilliant but one can easily find a couple of good atmospheric bm tracks on almost each and every release.
What else makes this project unique and appealing to me is Azgorh`s frequent usage of medieval interludes and dungeon synth tracks that fit his raw and sad black metal perfectly.
This band is praised by few and hated by many but still it sticks to the initial roots of BM - and that deserves respect (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

The number of demos, EP's and splits decreased, but there are still so many albums. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/15.gif) I meant Drowning The Light is similar to Satanic Warmaster with approach to Black Metal, rawness, vampyric stuff etc. Probably Azgorh's inspiration was Black Funeral, especially early and works of Michael W. Ford. Since a few years Azgorh is even a member of Black Funeral. The difference between these bands are for sure epic atmosphere on DTL releases. Medieval vibe can be found very easily as well. I agree that not all stuff which Azgorh releases are great, but he deserves respect. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile3.gif)
