У меня на диске абсолютно другой порядок песен. Но сути это не меняет, альбом отменный. Когда он "не зашел" и я его забросил. Это было большой ошибкой.

Первый альбом настоящего DT: музыканты прекратили демонстрировать свои музыкальные пристрастия и занялись созданием если не стиля, то, как минимум - собственного подстиля и фирменного звучания. В итоге вышло необычайное слияние тяжести, скорости и прогрессива, что в высшей степени демонстрируют песни этого альбома. Наряду с частыми сменами ритма и музыкальных тем находится место органичным инструментальным переходам и соло, а вокал очень удачно дополняет все это, являясь еще одним инструментом. Причем все это очень качественно записано, в результате можно услышать каждый инструмент. Конечно же, не обошлось без цитирования некоторых тем настоений (например, классическое соло в A Mind Beside Itself: I. Erotomania или спокойный фрагмент в середине Innocence Faded, напомнивший мне ранний Manfred Mann`s Earth Band), но все это настолько перевито собственными темами DT, что не вызывает желания сказать "А вот здесь как у ...".
При всем этом DT не просто перемешали прогрессив и хэви, музыка на альбоме варьируется в довольно широких пределах, от трэшевых риффов в The Mirror и Lie, через арт/прогрессив-рок в Erotomania и Voices до блюза в начале Scarred и баллад The Silent Man и Lifting Shadows Off a Dream.
Сложно выделить какие-либо отдельные песни - хитов в коммерческом значении этого слова здесь нет, хотя ХОРОШЕЙ МУЗЫКИ здесь навалом. Но все таки выделю сагу A Mind Beside Itself

Да тут почти всё (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8.gif) , (IMG:style_emoticons/default/18.gif) и (IMG:style_emoticons/default/20.gif) . Из девяностых и большей части 00-ых лучший их альбом.

Один из самых лучших их альбомов, нравится намного больше перехваленного "Images and Words". DT на пике, даже ЛаБри еще не успел голос посадить (что случится уже на следующем диске).

Из девяностых и большей части 00-ых лучший их альбом.

Пожалуй самый разнообразный - с огромным количеством стилистических/стаффовых веяний, как здесь уже заметили. Но в отличии от предшественника менее концептуальный. Плохо это или хорошо - каждый слушатель определит для себя сам. Но по личному впечатлению: Images & Words до конца дослушиваю гораздо чаще чем сабж - видимо потому, что последние пара треков часто навевают некое уныние что-ли после предыдущих хоть и разноплановых, но ярких десяти (в 12-трековой версии альбома) номеров. Space Dye Vest и песней то по сути не назовёшь - так, набросок с фоновыми "болтаниями", а в Eve уж совсем переборщили с этаким "романтиком" в итоге чего получился по сути продукт поп-музыки первой половины 90-х.
