*Artist: The Great Deceiver *Year: 2000*Album: Jet Black Art [ep] *Genre: Alternative Death Metal *Country: Sweden (Gothenburg) *Format: mp3@192 *Size: 22 Мб. Tracklist: 01. Cornered Rat 02. Jet Black Art 03. Suffering Redefined 04. End Made Flesh And Blood 05. Desperate And Empty ************************* Total playing time: 16:16 (IMG:http://metalarea.org/upload/myspace.jpg) Gothenberg, Sweden. Not a large city by any means, but on the underground music scene map, this has to be at the top. Look at the names - Refused, Meshuggah, Abhinanda, and now The Great Deceiver. Featuring Tomas from AT THE GATES on vocals, The Great Deceiver knock out sheer brutality in a style not compared to many. Think vocals in that "I'm gonna tear your heart out with just the sound of my voice" style, but with a more crossover hardcore sound, in that early Entombed style of metal. Bruising riffs and blasting drums, overlayed with probably one of the best metal vocalists around give them a pretty damn good hand to play with. Having yet to come across the pond, The Great Deceiver have barely even layed a finger on their potential in the hardcore/metal scene, but with a sound, style, and a little history behind them, they are so ready to grab you by the throat.
