ЛаБри раздвигает границы и времена. Довольно спорный, неоднозначный альбом. Слишком большой разброс смешиваемых стилей и музыкальных решений. Единственное, что все это сдерживает вместе - вокал Джеймса и, если я все правильно понял, музыка, в сочинении которой он принял участие. Прог-метала здесь ну чуть больше половины, как оказалось. Начиналось то все совсем "за здравие": трэш, переходящий в пауэр, переходящий в прог в Crucify. А вот дальше... то в лес, то по дрова... Какие-то альтернативно-металльные дела, новая романтика (Lost), что-то, что могли бы спеть Simply Red или абстрактный Крис ДэБург (Smashed, Slightly Out Of Reach) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fear.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fear.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fear.gif) . Понятно, что все это перемежается не самыми плохими прог-металльными номерами типа Pretender, Invisible и Undecided, в которых найдется место и теплому клавишному звучанию, и припечатывающим рифам, и отличным соло, но... вот этот синти-поповский звук клавиш реально подбешивает (IMG:style_emoticons/default/25.gif) . Не, ну понятно, что "маэстро так видит", что "свобода творчества". Повторюсь: неоднозначно.
