Хотя... кто знает? "Neverending Silence Of The Pompee" is an instrumental masterpiece brought to us by Sungate - a very unknown band, yet very talented. The musicianship put into this album is nothing short of brilliant. The production of this album is crisp, and everything can be heard cleanly. To start it off, Sungate is hard to place in any one category. While the band is self-labled as an "experimental gothic metal" band, there is a varying degree of music styles present. To add to the complication of classification is the fact that there are no vocals. However, the music stands firm on its own, and the lack of vocals does not hinder the music in any way. To describe the music, it is, for the most part, set in a melodic progressive style. However, it can shift to borderline a folkish or medieval feel, or even a Gothenburg style melody, and then slow down to a calming, peaceful guitar-keyboard duo. Each song seems to contain it's own emotion, while at the same time changing tempos and creating a vast array of emotions. For example, the song Vulcan starts off as an acoustic guitar, and shifts into a power/progressive metal style with supporting keyboards, then drifts into a "horn herald", giving a majestic, medieval feeling. Then drifts back into acoustic style guitar that smoothly runs into a second progressive melody. This, as the other songs in the album, reflect the inconsistency yet amazing changes within the music as mentioned above. A particular issue that I do have with this album is that the songs tend to "run together". It can get repetitive, somewhat. Nonetheless, "Neverending Silence Of The Pompee" is definitely worth the listen. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for instrumental metal, because Sungate is definitely a keeper. /Ревью by Boxx взято с www.metal-archives.com/ Register
