Слушал в один день два альбома в примерно схожей жанровой стилистике - этот, Origin - Origin (2000), и Brodequin - Instruments Of Torture (2003). Слушал подряд, один-за-другим, сначала Origin, затем Brodequin. Обе группы - штатовские, обе выпустили эти свои альбомы в примерно схожее время (3 года - не суть разница), оба альбома - по 29 мин. времени звучания. Ну, в общем, ОЧЕНЬ много схожего между этими релизами. Между тем, мои впечатления от альбомов - со-вер-шен-но разные! Например, уже после 2-й композиции Origin я недоумённо начал подумывать: а когда музыку-то начнут играть!? Так и не дождался. Попробую объяснить: исполнители эксплуатируют свои инструменты, не выдавая при этом собственно самого МУЗЫКАЛЬНОГО продукта. Вот уж где натуральная голая техника! На выходе - бездушные технологические квадраты. Но окончательно всё убивает невероятная на моей памяти ОДНООБРАЗНОСТЬ. В этом деле с нашими "оригиналами" могли бы посоревноваться, наверное, лишь Mortician - но те ведь сознательно и по-жизни всегда были монотонными. Здесь же - один и тот же (хоть по секундам проверяй) ритм на протяжении всего альбома! Да уж, Origin оказались напрочь не ОРИГИНальны! Не понравился ни ритм, ни ударные - однообразность и технологичность убивают всё. Разве что в Infliction гитара ещё начинает "шевелиться", играя влево-вправо от общего ритма - но это лишь лёгкое исключение. Origin проигрывает Brodequin'у по всем статьям и за явным преимуществом последнего. Честно говоря, не ожидал подобного сюжета - особенно учитывая восторженные отзывы на данный альбом. 7/10 - но это лишь за голую технику.

Добротный альбом, ровный, ультатяжелый и достаточно техничный. Бас приятно лязгает, а больше зацепиться уху и не за что...
Для дебюта вполне... но дальше у них будут работы поинтереснее.

Ну, можно сказать, что дальше интереснее, но тяжелее для "усвоения".
Тут всё попроще...

Если переслушивать Origin всей массой - то для меня этот в фаворе.
