Альбом - настоящий шедевр прогрессив-дэта. Совершенно потрясающая мелодика (в том числе и гитарная, хотя вообще здесь очень много дают клавиши). Такие нежные (да-да, именно "нежные" и никак иначе (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dooo.gif) ) и изящные мелодии я слышал разве что у Циника.
Слушать тупо всем (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

Как ни странно, данную группу открыл только в этом году, с "Mephisto Lettonica". Произошло это очень интересно - я ехал на автобусе в Польшу, за окном плавно плыл латвийский пейзаж с полями и редкими уединившимися домами. Я ткнул пальцем в Neglected Fields в плеере - название, которое много раз слышал, но саму группу ни разу не слушал. Музыка пришлась к пейзажу очень кстати, но каково было моё удивление, когда выяснилось, что дебютный отслух происходит на аутентичной по отношению к команде территории.
Красивейшие риффы, запоминающийся саунд и манера игры... В общем, эта музыка буквально приковала внимание. Ведь бывает так, что слушаешь музыку, но параллельно занимаешься чем-то ещё (что вполне естественно). А бывает прослушивание, как самодостаточный процесс, когда ты погружен в открывшийся для тебя новый музыкальный мир и совершаешь дисконнект с остальными сферами, куда ранее направлялось внимание. Найти группу, которая позволит это сделать - особенно ценно.
Единственное, немного удивило обилие клавиш, ставящих акценты там, где они уже и так проставлены, как правило гитарками. Ну, может, клавишник - хороший парень и ему дали возможность не потеряться...
Наиболее шедевральными я бы назвал композиции "The Spider's Kiss" (особенно заглавный "плетёный" рифф и центральный), "Whatever that Tempts" (в своём развитии; нечто подобное позже Gorod сыграли, сейчас не вспомню вещь, с которой параллель напрашивается), "Feral Garden" и Once Carcass Is Cold..." (рифф 0:28 на века!)
