Два главных недостатка группы: нет плотности звучания (одна гитара явно не вывозит) и нестабильность в плане материала. Довольно неплохие работы сменяются достаточно унылыми релизами. И то же самое касается песен в самих альбомах: скучный проходняк и добивки сменяются энергичными хуковыми номерами.
Как, например, на дебютнике. После энергичного хэви-метала в Hell Patrol слушаем рок-н-ролл Don't need your Money, а после краткого лиричного инструментала 39-40 идёт джудаспристообразный For the Future. И одно из достоинств группы - вокал - можно было бы чаще запускать на высоком регистре, а то порой получается какой-то Глен Хьюз периода Trapeze. Но все равно, главный козырь дебютного релиза - энергия - остаётся в наличии. Что действительно зацепило - песня Tyrant of the Airways, довольно эпичная, развёрнутая, с несколькими ритмическими и мелодическими частями. Так сказать, зачётный шаг в погоне за более крутыми своими земляками IM.

I'm not sure if you like this album, or giving sly insults.

the band Raven started in 1974, before Iron Maiden (1975), and they were never trying to "pursue" Iron Maiden's sound/style.
There is only ONE guitar player in Raven.
Raven came from a heavy rock/hard rock background, as did Holocaust, and a lot of NWOBHM.
The first three Raven albums are 100% perfect.

Да никакого лукавства, никаких оскорблений. Нормальный альбом. Про одного гитариста я знаю, но от этого звучание плотнне не стало. Что касается сравнения с IM - так перед глазами их второй альбом того же года выпуска, и обе группы всегда проходили под маркой NWOBHM. Впрочем, зачем это все объяснять?
