A monumental reign of terrors
throats slit up to stain the target

prey to the crows of stress

Filtered though the illiterate fingers of death

from the cupped hands of bedlam

On account of their brightness
I made friends with the word and the moon

The red square patterns, dragonrise and evenclaw

Сегодня освежил в памяти этот чудесный альбомчег. Уже гоняю по второму кругу. Да, умели, когда хотели.

Самое любимое из творений Темноспокойных.

Здесь мы уже встретим других Dark Tranquillity:

1) Исчезла блэковость, звук гитар стал именно дэтовым и обрёл нехилые низы. Ударные тоже не оставили в стороне, избавившись от излишней бойкой звокости (тоже в общем-то блэковой), придав тем основательности и в купе с хорошо прописанным басом конечную завершенность всё ритм-секции.

2) Количество традиционных гитарных пассажей заметно поумешилось - ставки сделаны на чёс с педальными нотами и акустические вставки-проигрыши - первая тройка композиций, отлично иллюстрируют это. В какой-то степени вполне компенсировали одно другим.

3) В целом альбом имеет гораздо более лиричную атмосферу нежели предшественники - таким вещам как Hedon или Insanity’s Crescendo, могли бы позавидовать многие дэт-думовые формации тех времен.

Вот так...

Да, многих огорчает короткий хронометраж большинства треков, но на мой взгляд, шведы добились золотой середины, умело уместив техничные, эмоционально богатые и мелодичные композиторские решения в рамки средней продолжительности, избежав тем самым возможной монотонности и явной занудности некоторых композиций.

Классно отработали. Как по мне, оставили бы они такую подачу и дальше. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

Да ладно! с оживлением темки, достал из чулана старенькую студийную запись альбом Галерея,
так вот студия называет эту музыку: death-black metal with doom elements
Я на этом, конечно, не настаиваю, как говориться, за что купил, за то и продаю,
но это лишь наводит на мысль о том, что слуховой аппарат и место в которое он вмонтирован, отличается крайним субъективизмом (IMG:style_emoticons/default/15.gif)

Чем глубже в 90-х погружаешься в их дискографию, тем хуже обстоят дела. Но по-настоящему плохой у них только Skydancer, и тот не без проблесков.

Дума на "Галере", конечно, нет, а вот блэковость присутствует.

А потом началась другая эра, не хуже.

А намного лучше. Как раз после сабжа она и пошла, хотя и он мог её открыть, если бы сведён был толковее.

Настолько по инерции, что записали два из трёх своих лучших альбомов.

Главным плюсом альбома я бы назвал наличие большого количества цепляющих песен с отличными мелодиями и экспрессивным вокалом (сначала Constant, потом Insanity's Crescendo, за ними Still moving..., Tidal Tantrum, и далее до финала). Вслед за этим, чтобы подать это все в лучшем виде, группа нарулила отличный звук по всем частота и не стала злоупотреблять скоростью и чрезмерной нагрузкой на Рим-секцию. Просто бриллиант, почти и не уступающий предыдущим работам.
