Почему слава Мардука не меркнет? Ответ прост - группа делает НАСТОЯЩИЙ, ИСТИННЫЙ БЛЭК-МЕТАЛЛ. При этом разнообразный от альбома к альбому и не теряющий не только в трескотне и злобе (с чем традиционно связывают имя команды), но и в интересных, атмосферных, запоминающихся мелодиях и качестве представленного материала, как исконно чёрного, так и атмосферного-интерлюдного. Третий полнформат шведских обскурантов получился самым продолжительным по времени, по качеству же материала группа вышла на новый уровень. Прежняя сырость сменилась отстраненной атмосферностью и некой тревожностью звучания. 2 вечнозелёных хита: Sulphur Souls и On Untrodden Paths (Wolves Part II) представляют собой ураганный и скоростной бм, при этом атмосферный и тревожно-протяжный. Чем еще хорош этот диск - песни наконец-то начали представлять собой не просто сырую классную сбивку из разных кусков и фрагментов вокала-инструментов, как это было на предыдущих релизах, а действительно отдельные и самостоятелньые законченные произведения с отточенностью и лоском.

Альбом все же очень крутой, в своем роде - вершина раннего творческого развития группы. Процент долботни, так нелюбимой многими, здесь еще не приобрел больших значений, зато мрачной мелодики и атмосферы, распыленных в нужных местах, очень много и это сделано уместно, что в бм удается не всем и не всегда. Хайлайты альбома: Sulphur Souls, On Untrodden Paths (Wolves Part II), Deme Quaden Thyrane, The Sun Has Failed.
